  1. 1. When you run away in the middle of a perfectly good leg humping.

    2. Blaming your farts on me...not funny...not funny at all.

    3. Yelling at me for barking... I'M A FRIGGIN' DOG YOU IDIOT!!

    4. How you naively believe that the stupid cat isn't all over everything while you're gone. (Have you noticed that your toothbrush tastes a little like cat butt?)

    5. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out. Exactly who's walk is this anyway?

    6. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose...stop it.

    7. Yelling at me for rubbing my *ss on your carpet. Why'd you buy carpet?

    8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet...idiot.

    9. How you act disgusted when I lick myself. Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous.

    10. Dog sweaters. Have you noticed the fur? Imbecile.

    11. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons. Now you know why we chew your shi_ up when you're not home.

    12. When you pick up the crap piles in the yard. Do you realize how far behind schedule that puts me?

    13. Taking me to the vet for "the big snip", then acting surprised when I freak out everytime we go back.

    14. The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw. You fooled a dog! What a proud moment for the top of the food chain, you nitwit.

    15. Invisible fences. Why do you insist on screwing with us? To my knowledge, dogdom hasn't yet solved the visible fence problem!!

  2. It's finally Friday and I've been busy as a bee. We have company coming in from New York tomorrow to stay for a week and more coming Wednesday for a couple of days. We will have both my husband's sisters and their husbands here at our house at the same time for the first time since we've been married (30 yrs). On Sunday we're having a cookout - 25 - 30 people will be here. Oh my! I may be looking for a quiet place to hide. lol

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

  3. Donna,

I'm so sorry this has happened to you and your husband but thank goodness it was found early. Hopefully he'll have the same survivor success you've had. My prayers are with y'all.

  4. Judy,

I was always one who tried to NOT take stuff for pain but my doctor convinced me that patients get better faster if they take the pain medication and to not wait too long to take it. He said if the pain is a 2 it's easier to make it go away than if you wait until the pain is an 8.

    So take your medication!

  5. It's getting kinda stuffy in here so I thought I'd try to open the windows and let some air inside. I took a break from here because when we lose someone it hurts so much - however - whether I'm posting here or not - it still hurts just as much. :(

It's sunny here in North Carolina this morning. We opened the pool about 2 weeks ago but so far no one has ventured into the water. I expect that to change soon. My husband's sister and her husband are coming for a visit on June 2nd. They live on Long Island NY. We're having a big cookout while they are here. Should be about 25 people so I'm sure some of them will go swimming, especially the younger ones.

I hope everyone is having a good day and please add to the air. (this is why I don't open - can't think of anything to say)

  6. Bubba and Billy were driving down the road while drinking beer when they spotted a roadblock ahead. "We're gonna get busted," whimpered Billy. "Don't worry," said Bubba. "We'll just pull over and finish drinkin' these beers, then peel off the label and stick it on our foreheads and then toss the bottles under the seat. Just let me do the talking." They downed the beer, threw the empties out of sight and put the labels on their foreheads. When they reached the roadblock, the police officer asked, "You boys been drinking?" "No, sir," said Bubba, pointing at the labels. "Me and Billy are on the patch."

  7. Diane,

Some insurances pay for the shot and some don't - mine does so I did get it last year. From what I understand the vaccine won't prevent you from getting shingles but if you do - then it will be a lot milder case.

  8. The one who had regrets grieved for the woman he knew and what they did wrong. The one who loved deeply and had no regrets, grieves for the life they had not yet lived - the future that might have been. I found this an interesting insight. To want more time with our loved one - isn't that just the truest indication of this crazy thing called love?

How true this is. I haven't lost a spouse but have lost a sibling and both parents and I grieve for the life we hadn't yet lived. My daddy died when my daughter was 10 months old - she will be 26 next month. He missed her whole life and SHE missed knowing her grand daddy. My mother died 12 years ago. How many conversations could we have had in 12 years? I miss them both so much.

  9. We have a total electric house and if you average our bills for the past 12 months it is $150 a month but our house is only 1700 sf. When we lived in New Jersey in a 3000 + sf house our bills were way higher. One reason we moved south and to a smaller house when we retired.

As for eggs - scrambled well done and then cook a little longer - lol.

  10. Good morning all. I hope every one has a very Happy Thanksgiving. Turkey is going in the oven in about 30 minutes. Usually on Thanksgiving we have my brother in law and his wife, his two grown sons, their spouses and kids for Thanksgiving but this year they decided to stay home so it's just hubby, daughter and me this year. Daughter's boyfriend will probably come over for dessert after his own lunch.

  11. I think I need a whole house pass instead of a hall pass. I just need to step away for a while. My heart is so heavy and my mind just won't stop - I'm having trouble sleeping at night. I'm going to "try" to stay away from the boards for a while if I can. I don't know how Katie and others do it - I'm afraid to come here and read because there might be more bad news. How did I come to care for y'all so much when I've never even met most of you? I'll be back when I think I can handle it again.

    I care too much.

  12. Judy - I don't know what to say except to offer you another hug. I admire you for the support you give others.

Katie - I've told you quite a few times that I'm here if/when you need someone to listen to you. Everyone needs someone to just listen.

    Hugs,

  13. Good morning everyone!

Yesterday we had to go to Charlotte (40 miles away) to see a thyroid specialist. In my last CT scan they 'saw' a nodule on my thyroid that my oncologist wanted me to get checked out. The thyroid dr did an untrasound and said it's a fluid filled cyst and nothing to worry about. No reason to even do a biopsy. Whew! Dodged another bullet. I always say that I must be the healthist I've been in a long time because if anything was wrong they'd find it on my scans.

Woke up this morning to 37 degrees. A bit nippy! But the lows are suppose to go back to the mid to high 40s for a while. The leaves on the trees are such beautiful colors right now. One of the things about winter I don't like is how bare the trees are. We need to get outside and do some yard work. We're thinking about it - lol!

Eric - I get tired just reading about your life. How did you ever have time to work? How is Sally doing? I hope she's doing well.

Judy KW - Don't try to do too much while Stan is away. When my hubby use to travel for work that's when I took it easy! lol

Annette - I sure miss seeing you here. I hope everything is okay with your life, your mom and 'wayward' as Eric calls him.

Katie - sounds like you're more busy than a hive of bees. Try to slow down and smell the roses every now and again girl.

  14. Hi everyone. We are finally home again. We spent Sept 19 - Oct 1 at Hunting Island State Park in SC. It's a beautiful state park but it was still a little too warm and humid to suit us. And we had quite a bit of rain altho most of it came at night. Then from Oct 1 - Oct 14 we were at Edisto Beach State Park, also in SC. The weather, at first, was beautiful. Not hot and not humid. But the last few days we were there it stormed. Rain and high winds. The day before we left the sun came out and we went out on the beach and I have never seen so many shells before in my life. They were at least 6 inches deep in places and conches everywhere. We must have picked up at least 100 conches and tons of other people were picking them up too. It was amazing to see. I guess the storm washed them up on shore. Yesterday and today we've been cleaning out the motorhome and washing it and cleaning carpets, etc. I think I need a vacation to get over my vacation. lol

I hope everyone is well. It may take me a while to catch up on all the posts. I do have good news which I'll post in the good news forum.

  15. We are leaving later today for a vacation in our motorhome. We're going to Hunting Island State Park and Edisto Beach State Park - both on the coast of South Carolina. We'll be gone almost a month. Right now we're scheduled to be back October 14th. I'll have my laptop with me but won't have daily internet - only when I can drive to a wifi place and not sure how much that will be.

    Take care all!

  16. A young woman decides to end her life by throwing herself from the docks. Right when she's about to jump, a young man stops her: "I'm a sailor off to Italy. I can stow you away on my ship and take care of you." With nothing to lose, the woman accepts. That night the sailor hides her in a small compartment in the hold. Every night he makes love to her till dawn. Two weeks later she is discovered during a routine inspection. "What are you doing here?" asks the captain. "I have an arrangement with one of the sailers. I get a free trip to Italy. Plus, he's screwing me," she says. "He certainly is," says the captain. "This is the Staten Island Ferry."
