  1. Had three treaments for lung cancer and now in waiting mode. Have only heard from one other person that has had it done. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of how cyberknife has helped or hurt them?
  2. Taken to hospital in June thinking I had heart attack. After scan said no heart damage but had found tumor in left lung while looking for blood clot. Sent to cancer center to get petscan then to surgeon in Dallas. He said could not do surgery but to go do more breathing tests (have copd) and he would check again when he got back from vacation. Went to new surgeon who said was inoperable because of location of tumor and condition of lung (would have to take all of lung and would kill me or put me on life support for rest of life). Sent to cyberknife clinic and took treatments. (recomend them highly if they work. no pain from it and no side affects). Go back in Dec to get new scan. Meantime waiting for biop results on skin sore. grrrr. Thanks for info and advice.
  3. Is there anything that can be done to stop ads on tv that videos show they will cure all cancers regardless of what your doctor says? Oh yes, they do put the disclamer in small print on their videos but still offers false hope to a lot of people.
  4. Pain in left chest put me in hospital in June. Determined it was not heart but that is when they found tumor in left lung. Ong story short, had cyberknife treatments and saw cancer doc. Says tumor would not cause pain. Has enyone else had similiar experience and if so what stopped it?
  5. Thank you for response. Isn't it hard making that kind of decision. I guess I am to new at this to know what all the letters stand for or the other meds mentioned in others notes but looks like everyone is doing ok. I will know more for sure in Dec. See fam doc the 8th of next month. Maybe he can fill me in since everyone reporting to him.
  6. Cancer doc went thru speel about how he normally does 16 chemo treatments in 16 weeks after normal surgery. And was leaving it to me. I asked him what he would do in my place. He said he would not want to go thru the added shortness of breath due to existing copd and weakened condition. Thanked him for his honesty and set ct for December. He feels like I will be here to do it. Does anyone else have copd and lung cancer story to share? And/or chem treatment after cyberknife.

    No Chemo.

Am told I have inoperable 1A tumor in left lung. I have had copd for years. I had cyberknife treatments and was sent to cancer doc for first time. He went thru speel about what normally does about doing 16 chemo treatments after normal surg but when I asked him what he would do, he said he would wait for next ct. Has anyone else had like experinece?
  8. Thank you for the responses. I finished last of three treatments Sept 4. No side affects that I noted. Just backache from laying on that table so still for so long. What fun. NOT. lol They set appointment for me with cancer doctor on the 24th and due back for ct in Dec. to see it it worked. All in all feeling well.

    Cyberknife

Has anyone had this treatment? If so how was your experience? I am scheduled to start next week. Thank.
  10. Has anyone with copd ever had the cyberknife treatment? I am scheduled to start on the second of Aug and looking for people with experience.
  11. Not sure how to check signature. Sort of new at this but good to find somone with first hand knowledge of the procedure. Same story with location. Surgeon would not operate on me because of the location and condition of my lung (have had copd for years). I hope you and sis are doing fine now.

    Cyberknife

Has anyone had this procedure? I am told this is my only option for me now and sort of wanted to know what to expect from someone that has been there.
  13. Thank you for your responses. Have yet to find anyone that has had this done. Guess I will be a first at something. lol
  14. Because I have had copd for years and the position of the tumor in my lung I am not candidate for regular surgery. Found am eligable for cyberknife surgery. Has anyone had that done? Sounds promising anyway. Thanks.
