Guest svbooker
Hello everyone - My mother is not responding to chemo or radiation for her stage IIIB squamous cell ca. She has very extensive skin involvement on her chest which was characterized by redness and tenderness even before she began rt. Now it's much worse. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with a treatment or approach that might make her more comfortable in this respect. Thank you for such a well-designed, thoughtful site. I can see that many people benefit from meeting the kind people here. Take care, Susan
Carolyn Flournoy
Has your mother seen her primary doctor about her skin condition. After my husband had chemo and radiation he came down with shingles which I understand is not uncommon with cancer patients. They look like small red spots with little blisters (chicken poxes). It can be very painful if not treated at the onset. Maybe someone else has some other ideas about her rash that will help you.
