  3. Hi Ginny, Had been thinking of you this month knew it would be three years but didn't know the exact date. From your posts and talking to you a couple of times knew you would live life to the fullest. It's the little things like a funny story you know he would enjoy, or juicy gossip, or garage doors that don't work that it hits you like a lead brick. But life is good when the golf score is low and friends and family are high.LOL Carolyn
  4. Larry, I'm with you a 32 Carolyn
  5. Happy Birthday Cindy, Have a wonderful birthday celebration. Carolyn
  6. Glad to hear she is fine do miss her common sense replies. Think of her often. Carolyn
  7. I'm sure most of you have seen the holiday film It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Steward well this was Jim he brought our town back to life. As Mayor for 5 years when the bank closed he brought one in along with a nice market, a motel and a prison. He negotiated with the prison to build us a new city hall and a fire department. He served the city for over 20 years in different positions without ever being paid. What a interesting life we had. At sixteen riding a Harley Davison with the Hells Angels. Been to Hollywood parties flew over Mt. Rushmore in a balloon. So many adventures to numerous to mention. As Jim would tell people he had three for three meaning all of his children lead good productive lives like himself. What I miss the most is his sense of humor I catch myself thinking I tell Jim about this or that then I realize that he's gone. This isn't meant to be sad because he left three children and ten grandchildren with the same traits and quality as himself so there is always something to laugh about. Carolyn

  11. Ginny.....So sorry for your loss. I think of you and Earl often. Will continue to keep you both in my prayers. Love your friend Carolyn
  12. Betty....Worried about your trailer as I watched the news all weekend. Glad everthing is O.K. as far as the storm damage and you were safe in the hospital. Sounds like your doctor has a good plan and you have caught this early. My best to you Carolyn
  13. Dean...Jim has been having low blood pressure also. His heart doctor has been running tests to fine the cause. But in the mean time told him to use salt on his food. Not to go wild but salt to taste. You might ask hospice nurse about an increase in your salt use. The best to you, Carolyn
  14. Last week my husband's appetite was going down hill as everything tasted horrible. He just wasn't interested in eating and drinking. Went to doctor looked into his mouth and he had developed an infection called Thrush. It's a fungal infection that looks like white paint on your tongue. You might check your husband's mouth this could be his problem. Just another idea hope this helps. Carolyn
  15. Cindy....Glad you are back! You always provide alot of support to everyone here. Sounds like all your recent tests came back with good results. Years ago my brother moved out at 18 years old. It took 3 months for him to come home. With him he brought 3 pillow cases full of the yellowest looking laundry I have ever seen. Young people aren't aware of the work it takes to keep a household going. Hope she comes home soon and starts college in the fall. Congratulations on the new computer. Carolyn
  16. Jim had a CT-scan June 16th we decided to hear the results July 1st because of a number of things. We knew the news would not be good and didn't want to start chemo before the 4th of July which is his birthday. His pain has increased he is now on 40mg. Oxycontin every 12 hours and 20mg. Oxycodone solution for breakthough pain. The findings of CT-scan were increase of size of lung masses and nodules and thickening. Liver lesion has also increased in size. He started on Taxotere the 8th of July it will be every 3 weeks. Jim was not happy about going back on chemo. Chemo has not worked for him in the past. And then again maybe it has worked he's a 19 month survivor. His birthday was celebrated with fireworks, homemade ice cream, our 3 children and 8 grandchildren. We have 10 grandchildren but the 2 oldest stayed in Utah. They work during the summer to help pay for their college tuition. Thanks to everyone for the information I have obtained from this site. Carolyn
  17. Ginny....Have been thinking about you and Earl often. Hoping that you find the help you need to make your life and Earl's the best it can be. Take care of yourself your Friend Carolyn
  18. Dolly.....Ditto what Ginny said, but my husband is taking 200 mg. twice a day. He had 8 carbo/taxol treatments. The joint pain seemed to get worse with each treatment but went away when treatment stopped. He continues to take Celebrex with Iressa. Good luck with the Iressa. Carolyn
  19. Ginny....This is great news from the radiation onc. what a relief for you and Earl. Hope there's improvement with his strength and fatigue. What helps with Jim when he's weary is a ride in the car. Yesterday we stayed home, bad day for him. But today had to go to Mexico for his Celebrex. He doesn't get out but the ride bring new life and color into him. So happy the news was good today many more good days for you and Earl. Carolyn
  20. Ginny....So sorry to hear this sad news. My thoughts are with you and all your family. Your friend Carolyn
  21. Paddy.... My husband Jim and the onc. have real serious talks together. They talk about hunting, sailing, skeet shooting all the real important stuff. We travel 155 miles one way to get to the doctors office. Jim feels so much better after they have their talks its worth it. This is the way he has chosen to deal with his illness. I call the next day if I have any questions or concerns. I think a lot of us wives have the same problem. Carolyn
  22. Ginny....I just want to let you know I'm thinking of you. Wishing for better health for everyone you love. And much better days ahead for you. Your friend Carolyn
  23. Shirley.....Glad the relay for life event went well. I have a suggestion for getting up those stairs. Sit on your bottom and scoot up those stairs if you feel the need to get to that computer. Carolyn
  24. Carlton....Glad the drug co. came through for you. Hope Iressa works well for you with manageable side effects. Carolyn
