Guest LCSC Info
Watch Sara's Hope Summit Video on the LUNGevity website: http://events.lungevity.org/site/PageSe ... e=homepage LUNGevity Foundation works to support, educate, and empower people affected by lung cancer. One of those inspirational lung cancer survivors is Hope Summit participant Sara Ratzenberger. Sara was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer at age 31, after living for six months with a misdiagnosis of pneumonia. Because Sara never smoked and had been healthy and active, her doctors did not consider lung cancer a possibility. Sara reflects everything LUNGevity is about. She advocates for lung cancer awareness - her home state of Kansas recently passed a resolution recognizing the efforts of Sara and her husband, John, and LUNGevity for increasing awareness. She is a member of LUNGevity’s Lung Cancer Support Community, using her experiences and story to help newly diagnosed patients. And Sara helps build the grassroots movement by lending her name to the cause. Breathe Deep Seattle was created to honor Sara, and this year will raise over $50,000 to support lung cancer research. Because of people like Sara, there is HOPE.
