Susan Mantel joined LUNGevity Foundation as Vice President of Programs and Marketing in December 2011. She brings extensive experience with marketing and management of high profile health care products and services. She also has more than 12 years of experience working with researchers and clinicians to advance knowledge and options in oncology, infectious disease and behavioral health. Friends and family from 15 to 85 years of age have been affected by cancer, including an uncle and cousin with lung cancer, and she is dedicated to improving quality of life and outcomes for those with the disease.

Most recently, her work with the healthcare strategy and marketing agency Flywheel Partners included leading the advocacy and marketing initiatives for a biotech client’s innovative lymphoma treatment product. As the first Executive Director of Uniting Against Lung Cancer, Susan worked with the Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Committee to develop and execute strategies for raising awareness and supporting innovative research into the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

About Mel Majoros:

Mel Majoros, currently in remission, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. On a lucky break after her cancer surgery she was offered a job as a producer on a local talk sports show in Michigan where she advocates about cancer and other health related topics. During that time she started blogging and her blog www.Thecancerwarrior.blogspot.com has been named one of the top ten breast cancer blogs by blogs.com. She brings a unique perspective to being a survivor, always keeping a positive attitude and an athletes mentality for dealing with cancer and survivorship. Prior to working in radio Mel was a 10 year veteran of the television industry working on such shows as Walker, Texas Ranger and Crossing Jordan.
