Please come & see the pain these people are undergoing because lung cancer research is so underfunded and because of negative remarks and actions from others, including doctors, who appear to believe they caused their own cancer. Many people suffer from all kinds of diseases/accidents that are partially self-inflicted such as heart disease, stroke, accidents, etc. They are not ostracized the way lung cancer patients have been. More people die of lung cancer than breast, colon and prostate combined. Please consider finding out more about this disease and helping all of us as we struggle with this disease. Did you know only $1,200 is spent for each lung cancer death as compared to $11,400 for each breast cancer death and $8,000 for each prostate cancer death? The 5 year survival for lung cancer is 14% versus 86% for breast cancer and 97% for prostate cancer. Your expression of a desire to increase funding for lung cancer when elected would boost our efforts tremendously. Just getting the exposure that comes with your campaigning will be of great help in getting the word out to other elected officials about the urgency of our need.
