  1. Yes, I have had one of these for breast imaging myself. The lung one sounds a little more involved and a bit higher risk (pneumothorax).
  2. Thank you Lou. Right now I am just in the endless wait zone to get the darn thing scheduled.
  3. I was wondering if some of you could share your experience with having a CT guided biopsy. That is the next procedure I have to have to find out if the mass I have is cancer, and I would like to hear your experiences with it. As usual with any procedure, I am full of anxiety about it. Thanks in advance!
  4. Thank you Tom, I will have a look around it more when I get back this afternoon. How do I private message on here? Clearly, I am very unfamiliar with the tools used on this board.
  5. At times in my life that were stressful, I have found that writing has been helpful I notice that there are blogs here, but can't seem to find out how to start one. What I would like to have is a blog, or some sort of online journal that I could invite close friends of mine to read and/or comment on. Do blogs on this site have that kind of a feature? Or would some other type of blog be more suitable? If this is a suitable place for that type of blog, how do I start one? I can't seem to find any instructions for them. Thanks in advance.
  6. II have hd anxiety issues my whole adult life and have taken a .25 Xanax daily for 30 years. I used to have acute panic attacks in my thirties, and the possibility of lung cancer has brougt that back. It's affecting my blood pressure whih is sky high, even on BP meds. Have you found that Dr.s are open to using stronger doses of tranquilizers during this time. I am a mess and the acute anxiety is intolerable. How have you dealt with acute anxiety?
  7. Thank you so much Lou, it's very appreciated. I will be careful to not make a double post again as I am sure it's a hassle to deal with.
  8. Thank you for your posts. They lifted my hope level. I am trying to stay positive and just take one step at a time, but it's difficult. Knowing more will help as I am a person who does better when in action. I very much appreciate your input. So glad I found this board.
  9. Hi everyone, I am gayle, 70 years old and have been a smoker most of my life. I am deeply regretting that I was never able to stay quit as I found out yesterday that I have a mass on my left lung. I have already had labs done and have a CAT scheduled for Friday the 2nd of July. This started because I was coughing up a little blood intermittenly that started a week ago, and in a phone consult with my Dr. she told me it was likely from my asthma andwould disappear. She advised it if didn't stop within a week to come in which I did yesterday, hence the X-ray and then labs today. I think it is likely cancer and I am terrified. My BP is through the roof and I am on BP meds already. I have been trying to just put one foot in front of the other and am getting tests done as soon as they are orderd. I am not losing weight, and my lymph nodes are fine with palpation I guess I am just looking to learn as much as possible and find some emotional suppport as I am terrified.
