  1. I too am new here, but really enjoyed reading his posts, and will miss the sense of humor he had regarding his illness and its affects. May eternal rest be granted unto him, and may perpetual light always shine upon him.

  2. Thanks to all who wrote in support of my dad. He is so "up" right now, that I am THRILLED! Yesterday at his second chemo treatment, the doc compared chest xrays, and it is OBVIOUSLY shrinking. She was rather pleased, as obviously we are too! Keep those prayers coming!!!

  3. Many of you responded about my Dad's fear with going for Chemo. Tomorrow he starts round number two. We are all meeting there as a family to give him support, as again, he is scared. He is a trooper though, and wants to see the grandbabies get bigger, so will do anything. Thanks for your support in this. He LOVED your responses last time, and actually grew quite strong because of them. After tomorrow I will know more about the medicines, and such, so as to be able to get more information from you all. Keep praying! Thanks!

  4. My dad is not too computer savvy, but he can do email. I have forwarded a number of the posts I have received from LCSC and it has given him so much hope. It is amazing. I am so glad to have found you and hope to continue getting emails about staying strong, being positive, and having patience for each day. My dad has been the rock in our family, along with my mom, for years. It has been quite a devastation to have him dx. It has really brought our family close together, and for that I am so greatful. God bless you all for your strength, encouragment information, and peace.

  5. Carleen,

I am new here, and am browsing, as my dad was recently diagnosed. I look at your pictures, read your words, and feel like I know you personally - wanting to do what I can from so very far away.

I pray for you today. I pray that God grants you peace in your heart. We never know the plans of God, but I can tell you that I believe with all my heart, that now is not the time to lose the faith. God is with you, and though this pain is unbelievable, your continued faith in him will give you peace.

God Bless, and kiss your husband and pray together.

  6. As a member of a family where my dad was dx with sclc I empathize with your feelings, fears, and anticipation. Rest assured there are many here who pray, give advice, and share wonderful stories of hope. I will keep you in my prayers.

  7. My dad, diagnosed with SCLC, Superior Vena Cava Syndrome, is scared of chemo. He acts as if it is lurking around, ready to grab him, and make him sick. He feels great, but the worry is getting him down.

  8. My dad was diagnosed with SCLC, Superior Vena Cava Syndrome, and it appears to be in the limited stage. He started Chemo, and quite frankly, he is scared to death of it. Every day he wakes, thinking that the chemo is lurking, ready to make him ill. I look here for ways to give him hope, strength, and a positive outlook, because at this point, he feels great! :D
