  1. My heart is broken for Dave and Chapman's family. I am so sad and feel so hurt for lossing such a good and strong warrior. He never gives up till the last breath. His humor is overflowing and his belief is surprisingly strong even he walked in the rocky road. He will be missed always by all of us. He is a inspiring person.

Karen, Becky, I am so sorry for your loss. Deeply sorry! Karen is very brave and Dave knows how much you love him, how much you care about him. Becky, you lose a great brother that I believe you are so proud of having such a great people being his sister.

Dave, I hope you are well-received by all angels and God. My prayers are always with you and your family. Heaven receives one great angel today.

  2. Donna, the fact is SCLC is a very aggressive cancer, it must be treated immediately as it spreads very quickly. SCLC responses very well to chemo especially the first time. You are strongly suggested to get Mark immediate treatment. It is a standard treatment. Hope Mark can find a good and responsible oncologist.

  3.:cry: Dave, we are all with you, there seems to be no way but God will make a way for you. You are such a strong fighter, your positive attitude really inspires us very much. My prayers and thoughts are always with you.
  4. Denise, I am sorry to hear about the brain mets. But don't give up yet as your mom never receive any brain radiation or other treatments. It's too soon to think the worst. As you said, your mom is still living alive, treasure the time !!

    Stay positive!

  5. Kate, I understand that the initial stage after diagnosis is really hard as it is like a sudden nightmare that never happen before. But you have made the right decision to get more information of what to expect regarding the treatment and disease itself because better-know will make you feel better in terms of how to help your mom, what to ask the oncologist etc.

This is a very nice place for you to share others' stories and experiences as well as to ask questions that we may be able to answer.

  6. I am so saddened for this news. She was a wonderful lady and she was just so sweet... :(:(

We will miss you always and your smile is always in my mind.

  7. In my dad's case, the tumor just grew in 6 months (first diagnosis). He had the lung x-ray in Sept 2002 and the result was very good that nothing was found and very clear. Ironically, he was diagnosed in March of 2003. Cancer is a thing that it can grow in a very incredibly fast pace, especially SCLC, my dad's brain tumor was cut off, but in 1 1/2 month, the brain tumor recurred again. Neurosurgeon leader told us, it was rare that he never see this case which the tumor can grow in such a fast pace.

I think it's like a explosion, once it happens, you can stop it.
