I too had enlarged lymph nodes about 2 years after my surgery---the Dr. went in through my neck to examine (forget what you call it)--and all was clear-
probably just an infection---they since went down on the next scan--
I think that this probably happens more than we know--except most don't get scanned--
scans are great, however, they will show things that are non-problematic---
I hope your results show nothing abnormal

I found one study---but it was for 1B--rather than clog up the board, I am just posting the link
-
I think they are lumping 1A in with 1B and coming up with that stat---
the same with the other they lumped 1 and 2 together---
every stat I ever read for 1A has it 80% or greater
can you find anything for 1A alone?
thanks

I agree with Debi---get another opinion
I too was stage 1A and my surgeon said I did not need follow up---I checked the studies and found nothing about it helping 1A
so I also checked with oncology doctors and they too agreed---
chemo is not just an aspirin--it is poison and can sometimes cause more problems---so for your own peace of mind---please get other opinions and then make a decision once you have the others thoughts.
Hoping you have the same results as me --6 years this month!

Dear Lucky Guy---I had an upper right lobectomy in June 2000--
My tumor was smaller than yours and I was staged at 1A---I did see an oncologist for an opinion about chemo--and he said in my case it was not needed and could even hurt more than it would help--
as others on here have said--the studies seem to help more if you are stage 1B
But for your own peace of mind, do get an opinion from an oncologist that has access to all your records and films--
Good luck to you

I am sorry that I have not posted much lately I have been involved with animal rescue in NOLA. I know this is not cancer related but any one that loves animals may want to read. Pasados safe Haven is a wonderful animal grass roots rescue society that are investigating the shooting of animals that had food and water. They are a great charity with less than 4% ggoing to administrative costs. Go to their web to see what they have done. If you can donate, this would be the place to do so

Luckily, I take the train to work and only drive to the station---one mile--however, I was sure shocked when one day the pump was $2.89 per gallon--, the next day $3.65!!!!Remember the good old days when we complained when it went to $2.00?
