  1. Hi Deborah,

Sorry you have the need to be here, but glad you found us. I remember the overwhelming fear at first hearing the news. You can yell and cry and scream here all you need too. We're here. It sounds like they caught it early which is a very good thing.

  2. Thanks Guys!

My water aerobics class didn't start yet. But I did also join ediets and this is the first week on their food, it's pretty good. I weigh in tomorrow and see how I did eating their more portion controlled size meals!

  3. Hi Debbie,

Welcome. When they found a spot on my lung, I went home and told my Mom and I cried. That was the only time I cried. During my treatment I just emotionally shut down, that's what I had to do to get through it. So yes, to me you are perfectly normal. Since my treatment ended my emotions have started coming out about the whole cancer deal. But during I just kept a really locked downed tight focus on what I had to do next. Glad you found us!

  4. Hi,

Hope you are doing better. When I was in that kind of a mood, I had a friend tell me that it was perfectly alright, it's not like I'm upset over stubbing my toe. We all have a right to be upset every now and then.

  5. Hi Chris,

Sorry for the late reply, but welcome. I was dx'd with SCLC 2 years ago. Mine was caught very early and they didn't find any mets. I agree with everyone else it's definitely time for a second opion! When I was dx'd I thought it was a death sentence, but that just isn't true. You said you were given etoposide, did you also get any of the platins? Carboplatin or cisplatin? Glad you are here!

  6. Welcome. Sorry you have the need to be here. I would also suggest talking to the docs over at cancergrace.org. I don't know why your doc would say chemo is to harsh for somebody in your Mom's shape. It really varies from person to person how they take to chemo, some people it doesn't bother at all, some people get deathly ill. Nobody really knows how your Mom would do on chemo. You said she fought the beast once and won, maybe she would be up for another round? Good luck to you and your Mom,

  7. Welcome,

Sorry you have the need to be here but glad you found us. My dx was sclc, normal treatment is chemo followed by radiation. I had to have a surgical biopsy because they couldn't reach for a normal biopsy. Well I guess nobody told my surgeon that he was supposed to do a lobectomey if it was sclc, so he did that and took out about 12 lymph nodes! I think the ONC was shocked! Oh well! You've already gotten good advice! Good luck to you!
