Hi, I came across a site which I thought I would pass along - you can actually ask the oncologists questions and they will reply via email. Haven't tried this yet but it sounds good http://www.cancerlifecenter.com/ There are also links to clinical trials, by state, and much more pertinent information. Hope it helps someone in the constant search for answers.

Sharon, I thank you very much for your good wishes - but I am not the one with the problem. {Should say I am not the one in pain} Right now the Tylenol #3 is helping quite a bit. As I said in my first post, this is all new to us. I'm grateful to find such helpful, caring people.

Thank you for the replies. I've never heard of some of these pain medicines, I am taking notes. The doctor said it will take 5 or 6 treatments to get some relief but I suppose each case is different. Debbie, my condolences on your recent loss, it is good of you to take the time and effort to still post here. TBone, that is a good looking group! Hi - My first post - I've read many of your stories and this certainly is a caring and supportive group. I'm wondering if anyone has experience of how long it takes to get some pain relief with radiation treatments? This is regarding Stage IV and it has spread to the ribs. Tylenol #3 is helping and doctor has written a prescription for Vicoproten which we have not filled as of yet. This is all new to us and I appreciate the information I've already learned from this group. Thank You.
