ejpritz Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 Roger Clemens, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Yankee flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity," God said. "This is very special, not everyone gets a house up here." Roger felt special, indeed, and walked into his house. On his way up to the porch he noticed another house just around the corner. It was a three-story mansion with a bright red and blue sidewalk, a 50 foot flagpole with a Red Sox flag flying on it, and a Red Sox logo in every window. In the front yard was a sign reading 'Welcome To Beantown.' Clemen looked at God and said, "I don't mean to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I won three World Series rings, more awards than I can remember, and I won more than 300 games." God answered, "So what do you want to know, Roger?" "Well, why does Pedro Martinez get a better house than me?" God chuckled and said, "Roger, that's not Pedro's house... its mine." Quote
Don Wood Posted October 21, 2004 Posted October 21, 2004 You guys up there really do have it in for Clemens because he went to the Yankees from the Red Sox. I had heard stories. Well, we are glad to have him here in Houston. I think the Sox have done great things this year and I would wish you well, but I may well be on the other side after tonight. Cheers. Don Quote
ejpritz Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Well Don, sorry you guys lost. Can you be on our side now? I think we need all the prayers we can get. Quote
ejpritz Posted October 22, 2004 Author Posted October 22, 2004 Well if they can pull off a miracle, maybe some doctors out there can too. Quote
stephnewyork34 Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 hahahah, while I can appreciate a good joke, I am still a bit sore about MY yankees loosing to the SOX, ugh!! oh my Lord what is happening to the world, how can this be?? Although this is true, I wouldn't mind seeing a game in Fenway (too bad I am in Denmark), but we'll see, I will cheer for St. Louis and a Cardnal was my Mom's favorite bird, so sorry your SOX will have to wait for another time. NOT! hehehe Quote
