Almost a year...

April 3rd will mark the 1 year anniversary of my Dad's passing. Sometimes it is so hard for me to believe that he is gone. These last couple of weeks have stirred up a lot of memories of what our lives were like a year ago. My daughter was just about to turn 2 and now she's almost 3. She was the light of my dad's life and now the memories for her are starting to fade. I have a son now too, he is almost two months old. I never got to tell my dad that I was even pregnant- that is hard for me. There are many times throughout the week that I find my mind drifting towards thoughts of my dad and sometimes I cry. I suppose my feelings are all natural, including the ones where I feel that life is not fair. My dad was only 62 healthy years old, and then Cancer happened.

Oh well, these are just my thoughts for today.

I'm so sorry. I do understand and boy do I get it. Life isn't fair! And it's ok to feel what you are feeling.

I hope that one day soon you can be comforted by some memories of your dad and always know that he is with you.

(((hugs)))

Hope tomorrow is a little better for you.

Amanda, I "get it" too... its so hard. I think the first year was the hardest... the constant "last year at this time we were..." I would go back and read the past years calendar over and over, especially the last weeks of Daddys life and relive it all over again. It has been 3 years for me and I still want so badly to be able to have him back... I want to talk with him and tell him everything he has missed since he went home. But, then I do imagine that he knows, and he watches and he smiles. Those are the thoughts that get me through each day. Love, Sharon

Amanda--

I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. We are coming upon the one year mark of my dad's diagnosis and we are almost at the 6 month mark of his passing. Like you, my dad was healthy until cancer came into our lives. And it is just overwhelming to think about the void in my life without him here. You are being very strong and I wish you peace in the coming days.

Best,

Leslie
