Anais
Hello, Is it normal to have 39-40 of fever with NSCLC ? What is the cause ? Chemo or tumors ? (My mother is having fever, she received her chemo on Wednesday). Thanks, Anaïs
Carolyn Flournoy
Symptoms of infection are a fever greater than l00.4 F. call your onc. she might need antiblotics. When on chemo your white blood cells decrease putting you at risk for infection. This is the season for flu, colds etc. right at holiday time. Ry
Call the doctor. My husband ended up in the hospital with pneumonia from not calling soon enough when he had a fever. All the best to you.

Anais
The oncologist told us the fever was caused by the chemo's effect on the tumor. (Maybe it's a good sign ? Chemo working... ) Anaïs
karen335
Please make sure you don't let the fever get too high or go on for a long time. I did the same thing as Ry's hubby and ended up in the hospital with pneumonia. Please be careful. Prayers for your mom and you...
