RandyW
Spain Celebrates Cancer Vaccine Success A team of Researchers at Zaragoza University have successfully tested a vaccine against two strains of Cancer, with their research already having proven positive in tests on mice. The Spanish team welcomed success in trials on leukaemia and lymphomas, which were commenced four years ago and conducted in collaboration with French scientists. Juan Ignacio Aguiló, Alberto Anel and Julián Pardo are operating under the guidance of another Spaniard, Martín Villalba, based at the Molecular Genetics Institute in Montpellier, France. Having received the vaccine, the mice have managed to eliminate the cancer which was introduced to their bodies, in less than 48 hours. Their own defenses have then set to work to stop further development of cancer. The researchers are currently extending their trials to kidney, liver and lung cancer, among others, in the hope of achieving similar results, although it may be some time before any such testing will be used on humans.
