Monday Air

Can't say that my hearts really into this today. I've been a member now for about 4 years and this past year in particular seems like it's been a tough one, beginning with Ned I think. But then I think if Katie can keep going, then I certainly should be able to - so for what it's worth decided to stop by and say good morning!

It's supposed to be near 70 here today, with some sun, but then the forcast drops rapidly from there to our usual winter-like weather, but we've really been fortunate, especially in light of the awful weather conditions elsewhere. I'm still getting a few tomatoes - unbelieveable!

I had to take one of the dogs to the vet on Friday because he wouldn't eat. The vet sent me home with orders to get a urine sample. He said the easiest way was to use a long-handle spoon. Okay . . . . well my dog - a large male - wasn't going to have anything to do with this. I spent most of yesterday taking him in and out on a leash - but as soon as he'd see this spoon coming he'd just sit down and refuse to pee  I'm going to try again today, but with a large bowl instead of a spoon --- so this is the highlight of my day :)

The election is tomorrow and I have to admit I'll be very happy to see it over. Between the robo-calls from "Rachael at cardmember services" - and the various canned messages from candidates - my phone won't stop ringing. I can't imagine what it must be like for the voters who live in a battleground state.

I hope everyone has as good a Monday as a Monday can be!

Hi friends. Diane is so right, this has been a very tough year. My heart is so heavy today with the loss of friends and the huge struggles of others. I was at such a loss as to what to do, how to move and function. So I came here. Because this is the place I first found hope and strength. And laughter. because laughter really IS the best medicine. So, all day today, when I feel down I will close my eyes and imagine Diane running after her poor dog with a long handled spoon trying to catch his pee!

I had a very very hard summer on chemo. I was unable to do much more than get from bed to the couch and the couch to the bathroom for the last 3 1/2 months. I wasn't on here because honestly I could not concentrate long enough on any one thing to accomplish much more than hitting "like" on Facebook and watching really dumb daytime tv. I have been off the chemo for 6 weeks now, and for about a week and a half now I have been slowly improving. This weekend was the Breathe Deep Boston walk and I was hoping to just be able to make it there. I not only got there I actually walked one mile of the route!! God is good! I will post pictures when I have more time. It was a beautiful day and a very successful event. Oh, and I won one of the raffles, a night in the beautiful Charles Hotel in Cambridge Ma!

Hurricane Sandy hit my town pretty badly, but nothing like NJ. My heart goes out to the people there and in Staten Island.

praying for everyone today and always.

Special hugs to you Katie, for all you do, no matter how much you have on your plate. Please take care of yourself.

Welcome Back Janet!!!!!!!!! :D I know many here have been thinking about you. I hope things start going better for you. Wow, Diane I dont wouldnt know where to start to get a pee sample off a dog. I hope he doesnt have bashful kidneys. Seems like dogs pee everywhere except where you want them to. I know I also dont post or come here as much as I used to and I always say I will do better but then I dont. No excuse. I hope you all have a nice week and May God bless Susan,Ned,Judy and all the other beautiful children he shared with us.

Janet - am glad my "pee collecting" can give you a chuckle -- the neighbors are chuckling too even though they are not quite sure what I'm trying to do :)

I am sooooo happy to hear you are starting to feel a little better -- and a mile! WAY TO GO!!! And how nice to have a night at a beautiful hotel to look forward to. I am also glad your area wasn't as hard hit as some - although it all looks just terrible on the news. Growing up in Maryland we spent time almost every summer in Ocean City or Atlantic City (pre-casino days) - and it is so sad to see.

Mike - nice to see you - I hope you can stop by again soon.
