peterkin
Is there anyone who has stage IV Non small cell lung cancer with the following? 1. One Primary Lung mass 2. Mediastinal lymph nodes 3. One same side chest wall metastatic deposit 4. No other metastasis to the vital organs such as brain, bone, liver, adrenal glands etc. are we considered to have oligometastatic disease? it would really help us to chart the most effective course of treatment to take if others have similar sets of these lesions. We welcome any input on this.

peterkin
Hi KatieB, Please let me update my wife's profess so far. She commenced Iressa on June 10 and PET scans two weeks ago showed that her primary lung mass had shrunk by 93% in both mass volume and SUV. Similarly the scans showed only one visible mediastinal node that had shrunk by 70% in both volume and SUV. her left chest wall was excised three months ago and the latest scans did not show any uptake over that site. My question is should she go for radical remission therapy via lobectomy and removal of the lymph nodes +_ radiotherapy? It's not conventional for stage IV disease as I was told but my wife is a very fit 52 ultra marathoner. We would like to go all out for a cure, if that's possible. Hope there are others with similar types who have gone through the same journey Regards Peter

peterkin
Thanks Mary, her onc had seen her today and he hasn't given any us any specific advice he's just pleased with her progress. He did mention the possibility of adding on Everolimus? So the answer is still 'blowing in the wind'.
