Thank you all for the encouragment and support. Today we were told that it NSCLC, stage 3B, it is affecting his windpipe, his main artery and both lungs, so surgery is not an option. They have said he has 9 months without treatment and 1 1/2 years with treatment. Thanks again.... i am sure we will chat more in the months to come.

Dear Brenda,

I have to tell you about several people that were told they had months or a year or so to live and low and behold YEARS later they are still here! We will just KEEP THE HOPE and hope that treatments will shrink his tumors. (IT CAN HAPPEN)! I had a gentleman come to my Lung Cancer Support Group (he had SCLC) and they told him he had 6 months to live.

Well, he said he quit his job and traveled around the world. When he came to our Support Group, he had been around the world twice and he was a 2 year lung cancer survivor. He was looking to go back to work and get back to the (NORM) so to speak of living life a new! I'm sorry to say, he never came back to our group, and I don't know the outcome, but he was doing very well when we saw him.

Keep the Faith my dear!

You and your step-dad are in my thoughts and prayers.

Warm and Gentle Hugs,

Dear Brenda,

First thing I learned about all this is that doctors are not psychic, they do not have a crystal ball and they haven't a clue how a particular patient is going to respond or not to treatment. My dad was supposed to have been dead a while ago....HE'S still fighting the fight and getting better each day! In fact, he has gained alot of weight since his last round of chemo and now he does not do chemo at all, just being monitored every 3 months. So yeah, it's like living with a raincloud over your head every test time, but you know what, each and every day inbetween in bliss! Keep the faith and love and laugh everyday that he is with you!

Hugs
