Mary
Found out today that my sister was admitted to the hospital. She has been having severe lower back pain; aswellas, a queasy stomach. She will have a abdominal ct scan tomorrow and a bone/pelvic scan. She had a bone scan in April that showed mets to her femur and rib. Anyone else with bone mets familiar with this type of debilitating pain? Would appreciate any infoermation you may have. Mary

Don Wood
Yes, my wife has had excruciating pain in her upper spine, and on both hips. It has been managed initially with pain medication, and then treated with radiation which alleviated the pain. Don
KatieB
Mary, My dad had severe back pain too for three months, they "thought" (you know that doctor's are God right? ) that it was mets to his spine, but this was not conclusive and now six months later he has not had any pain since December. Either his chemotherapy took care of the mets, or he didn't have any to begin with. No explaination could ever be given t o us about that at all. I don't know if anything I just wrote helps, but just know that she can get better , like my dad, and that this may be a small hump in her road in this fight. You said she was one tough cookie, maybe she really needs this break, have someone take care of her, get the right meds and pain killers and have a chance to really recoup under the eyes of the medical professionals. Just a hopeful thought. I will be praying for that, and for you, and for your sister and her children.
