Hello list family. I've heard conflicting reports regarding deep tissue massage and cancer, so I'd like your input.

I've been going to a qigong healer and although it's not called deep tissue massage, I started thinking it may act the same way. Qigong is supposed to be like accupuncture without the needles (using energy force instead), but when I'm getting a treatment, it feels like deep tissue massage.

Have any of you guys heard that deep tissue massage can cause cancer cells to spread?

Thanks for any information.

I think the problem is more if you are in the middle of treatment. I love a massage, sure hope theres no problem. Donna G
