  1. I was about 16 and the guy was about 18. I wasn't at all attracted to him and I really didn't want to go out with him but my mom was friends with his mom. Anyway, we went out for dinner and a movie. The whole time he was talking about himself. As we were walking to the theatre he grabs my hand! I didn't even hardly know him but being quiet and shy I didn't do anything. All through the movie he held my hand and I sat there crying! I felt soooo uncomfortable. Because of that night I do not like the movie "Benny and Joon."

(I guess you had to be there!)

  2. Hi Kimme,

I just recently told someone else on this board about my experiences with my dad in the hospital way back in March. This is how it went....my dad was admitted because he was having SOB in our small hospital (no cancer centre in this hospital), and the doctor who admitted my dad looked at him and my mom (I wasn't there) and said, "why are you here?" basically he was saying well, he's got cancer, there is nothing to do about it! I WAS SOOO P***** OFF! My mom was almost in tears and my dad was white as a ghost! I can't believe some doctors who are supposed to be in the helping professtion.

I am sooo sorry you and your mom had to go through that. Just know that you came to the right place to vent!!!

  3. Hi D and welcome,

I agree with Joanie. You need to talk to the doctor about all of her meds. I don't like it when I hear doctors say about how long someone has to live. When I found out about my dad, that was the last thing I wanted to hear. Please try to be optimistic. I know it is hard. My dad made it to the year mark in august. Right now he is NED. There are lots of people on here who have been NED for a few years.

    My prayers are with you.

  4. Hi there and welcome,

I just want to let you know that you are not alone and that we are all here for you. Yes, I know how scared you are. My dad was diagnosed last year with small cell and he is still here with us. He is doing great. I hope that gives you some hope.

  5. I am here because my father was diagnosed in August of 2004. That was probably one of the worst times of my life. The worst part of it was the waiting. We knew the doctors had found something in his lungs but by the time they did a bronchoscopy (which was inconclusive) and then doing a needle biopsy it was horrible. I was doing a course that I couldn't finish. I turned to the internet for some help when I came across this site. Although it is absolutely horrible that so many people have lung cancer it is nice for people to come together to offer support and to know that you are not alone! For this, I will be forever grateful!

    Thank you so much everyone!!!!

    lots of love,

  6. Congratulations Lucie!!!!

You are truly an amazing woman with a wonderful, loving husband! You give soooooooooo much hope to those who are affected with this dreadful disease.

I will be sending lots of positive thoughts your way and will be praying for 3+++ more years of good news...

    love,
