[Mom Diagnosed NSCLC IV]

Hi Holly,

It is a tremendous shock! My dad quit smoking 20 years ago and he still got lung cancer! He is 75, and has NEVER had any health problems before! I want so desperately for my dad to see me get married one day...(I am 28)

A year ago, when my dad was diagnosed I thought..."is he going to make it to Christmas?" We often think that lung cancer kills us right away. Although sometimes it does but there are also sooooo many survivors out there (including my dad who has made it to the one year mark). So you have to hang in there! Good luck and stay positive!!!

Even though I am not the one with the cancer (my dad has cancer) I get pretty scared too! When you get the news that everything "looks good" it is the best news ever....until the cycle starts all over again
