They do lungs also. This would be a treatment option for those who can not have lobectomies if their tumor meets the parameters. Next site

From what I have read bothe of those chemos can cause peipheral neuropathy. ( carbo/taxol) I had this develop during my second round of chemo after I had surgery, the doctor stopped the chemo so I missed the last doses. Some of the neuropathy symptoms went away, like I don't just fall down any more, but the weird feelings in my feet stayed but so did I so I figure small price , I am alive to have those feelings. Sorry I did not take those same chemos so I don't know if I was of any help. I took Cisplatin and VP 16.

I know I have been to web sites where they show xrays of the lungs, tumors etc can't think of one now This site is animated ablation

Shellie, when I read your post I thought of a hymm we sing at church and looked up the verses it comes from:
Isaiah 14 and following:
But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me."
...................Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb? Even should she forget, I will never forget you. See upon the palms of my hands I have written your name..........
.....and those who hope in me shall never be disappointed.

Kathy I hope today your hubby is doing better. I know it took me a long time to get any stamina back. It could be that some are on vacation, or away for a few days, it's summer. boy I wish I could be on the beach at Cape Cod right now listening to the waves lap onto the shore. I guess I could listen to my "relaxing" CD , I have one with those sounds. Hope you have a great day. from a little home sick for the Bay state Donna

Saw this article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press today but it is nationally syndicated so here is a web site with same article. I had heard that an aspirin decreased risk of return of colon polyps, this says may decrease risk of lung cancer.

Sara, you have all our prayers for great result on that CT. Also give hugs to your two little ones. Is Grace rolling over? Donna

I took bothe of those chemos for weeks before I had surgery with radiation and for weeks after I had surgery. One positive side my best effect is it will be 6 yrs since I was diagnosed in December and no signs of cancer returning. Within days of starting the VP 16 my just about every hair fell out. During the last session I started to fall down etc and found that I had neuropathy in my feet so the Dr cancelled the last doses. You can find lots about these drugs at http://www.chemocare.com

Most every one I know that had lung cancer has been on antidepressents for some period of time. Why suffer needlessly. You have got to realize all that we go through has an affect on our body chemistry throwing it off. Go for it!

Thanks Ray. I remember walking to school, it took 20-25 minutes to get there. Sometimes we walked beside the street, but if it was hot we walked through the woods as far as we could ( shade). Most Moms were home when we got there. My friend's Mom made me eat peas when I stayed for dinner ( I could not get up from the table til I finished and I did not like canned peas) I don't remember having anything but ice cubes or ice cream in the freezer when I was in grammer school , The freezer was too small. We had neighborhood partys, of course birthdays, but also we had a "May Party" food, dancing with streamers around a May pole, games and fun. All the neighbors knew each other. When, in the winter , we went sleding at the golf course we knew every one there. We played squash in front of the house on the street , marking the bases with chalk. Cars would patiently wait til we got out of there way, they all knew us. We also played hop scotch (?sp) on the street.

Your uncle is a blessed man to have you caring for him. Lung cancer is very hard to go through, I can not imagine going it alone. Bless you.
Thank You!!

Three and a half years!! When they had told you 31/2 yrs ago to get your affairs in order your Dad was right. I remember how you told us" my Dad said why don't we go to Mayo like we did for your brother". You have been through a lot but the wonderful results that you are with us and proved that doctor wrong . Did you have your 29th birthday yet? ( Sorry I forget) When you get your results I hope we can have a party at group and celebrate . I love to celebrate Donna
