  1. It's 3:38 p.m. here in New York and that's good enough for me. I'll have a large glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm even bringing my hubby. He's shy, but he'll have a double of whatever's being served.

  2. Welcome and need to add my support to your starting your treatments asap. Doctors are usually very sympathetic to things like weddings and can actually schedule your treatment so that the potentially worst time of treatment doesn't fall out on wedding week. My sister in law's daughter was married during her chemo and let me tell you, she never looked better. She was a little tired for a few days after, paying for all the partying she did, but totally worth it.

Good luck and hope we can help you along the way.

  3. Sorry Andrea, we need to keep Aimie in New York. :D Aimie, I'm so happy to have met you. You're just a gem who knows how to give. Congrats on 2000!

  4. Just a suggestion so that as many people as possible can attend. I don't know where a lot of these towns or cities are, but hopefully they are near a major city that can be reached with one flight. I certainly would love to travel to wherever, but within reason.

  5. Don,

As much as I hate hearing this news, I feel confident that if anyone can do this, you can. You're extemely thorough and cyberknife sounds like the way to go. Hopefully this combo will do the trick. I sincerely wish you the very best.

  6. Hi Tom,

Welcome to the site and have to say, you do have a beautiful family. I know how hard the initial diagnosis is, having gone through it only last year. Having a supportive family will make things a lot easier for you. This is not a time to panic, as there are lots that can be done now, even for the furthest along. I am a New York Sloan Kettering patient. I wouldn't say they are aggressive, but would definitely say they are cutting edge. They totally know anything and everything that is new and I've been extremely happy with my treatment. If I can be of any help at all, either with questions or doctors, please pm me.

Wishing you and your family the best.

  7. Leslie,

I'm so sorry to hear such sad news. Your sister is so young, but her youth can work in her favor in fighting this terrible disease. There are lots the doctors can do today, including clinical trials. Try explaining to your sister that this is not a death sentence and that her attitude will help or hurt her. There are many cases of stage IV patients living a long long time. It is important for her not to give up.

Wishing you both the best and hope we can help you in your fight.

  8. Lori,

Wow, so happy to hear such great news. Hoping your mom continues her progress. You're a wonderful daughter and for sure, she couldn't have done this without you. :D

  9. Donna,

I agree with all the expert advice here, please go get another opinion or at least go back for another try at another drug. There are true stories where people were given 3 months to live and they decided they weren't going anywhere. Lo and behold, many years later they were still around. It can happen! Just don't give up.

My prayers are with you both.

    Joan
