  1. Hi Sarah: I was 75 when they found my stage 3b Nsclc by accident as part of a health exam for an extended Thai visa. Because Covid was rampant in my part of Pennsylvania, I could not return to the USA for treatment. And so I had surgery and chemo in Thailand. My tumor was clear of other organs and blood vessels so they never told me I couldn’t have surgery. and in Thailand, they don’t have the use of pretreatments as we do in the USA. I agree with the other postings and you should find help for your mom at a certified lung cancer center which usually will be at a University Hospital. There is one easily found on google. Your mom’s situation is very complex and I hope you can find assistance.
  2. Hi! My name is Phyllis Scott and I was diagnosed by accident 2 years ago while applying for Thai medical insurance for a Thai long term visa. And so I received my surgery and chemo in Bangkok. I was stage 3 nsclc and I have unique EGFR biomarkers - exon 18 and 20. Therefore there are no targeted therapies available to be. I live in northeastern pennsylvania and my oncologist is in Philadelphia. I advocate for more inclusive screening not based on just age and smoking history. Also, rural Pennsylvania has very limited post treatment palliative support services available through the local hospitals. And very few advocates for lung cancer awareness. So I am trying to raise awareness and end the stigma.
  3. I am wondering how the patient with exon 18 and exon 20 is doing. It’s almost a year since Drew posted. I also have 18 and 20 and we are quite unique. I declined Tagrisso to use it if I have recurrence. Also the recent ASCO conference information was presented that patients with EGFR mutations do not respond to immunotherapies, so based on that things like Keytruda are off the table. Anyone else 18 and 20?
