  1. Thanks Randy, I needed that. Judy in KW
  2. Becky, I never really participated in the pre-deer hunting ritual. But this year in NJ Stan and my nephew went and dumped apples in a deer habitat. After that we all took a ride through the woods so he could show Stan the range in which he hunts. I've been meaning to google how long Key deer gestate. I know about when they were crazy rutting and would love to see the teenie tiny deer shortly after they are born. It's not difficult to go where they congregate here in Big Pine. Oh, but no hunting, they are endangered. Like even the full-grown ones would have any meat on them anyway! Judy in KW
  3. Becky, I was laughing as I read this but I am leaving the jobs Stan just bought superglue and gorilla glue for to him. Judy in KW
  4. Morning All! Had to check my computer calendar to figure out if it was Tue or Wed lol. I knew an hr ago but my rentention is shot to h#$l. What can I say, a lovely day on the Air yesterday and I enjoyed a phone talk with Becky last night and a email from our friend Bruce this morning as well as a reply message from Janet. I'm feeling so many hugs all around. Mike, I am so sorry for your family's losses. You may know my family has suffered similar losses last year. Losing your sister is tragic. But to lose your son, I wonder from day to day how my sister deals with losing her daughter and husband. It never seems fair for a family to get hit so hard. I'll understand if you are not here for lengths of time. Hope you get settled in a cosy little home soon. I so enjoyed you coming back and tucking us in and turning off the lights. (((HUGS))) Bud, hope your cold is short lived. I'm sure you can't stay off the bike, but my trainer years ago said it's not good to exercise through an illness. Fresh tomatoes in November--Bud and Diane and Stephanie, how fab is that. But the summer wasn't all that, was it! Lily, hope you have a great time with your family. Feel like I could go on forever but this is getting a little long. I'm settling in and doing little today. Stan wants to go to the boat races in our boat this week. Haven't done it in years and want to be at my best. Have a great day everyone. Judy in KW
  5. Good morning All! OMG OMG, first Becky opening yesterday and then Mike I love it! Another peek at Becky's humor: Gotta love her. Envy you all seeing the trees in color--am looking forward to a trip up the East Coast from NJ in Oct we're planning for next year. Got some office stuff, laundry and misc HH done yesterday. Planned a day to town today. I invited Stan to go along. Hope I don't regret it lol. Seriously, I want his company but hope his hip holds out til I get done what I want to do. Time to start shopping for Thanksgiving--I can at least get the wine. Been up since 6 but have been sitting around reading the paper and drinking tea. Told you all I like a couple of hrs to wake up. Don't have time to read more now so will check-out the "Oprah" link later. Stan's already in and out of the shower sigh. Anyone heard about Janet? I know she's on FB but I rarely get there anymore. I've been catching up around my home and office (again) after a run where my cancer hadn't been so kind to me. Thank goodness for these more tolerable times. Gotta go. Have a great day everyone. Judy in KW
  6. Becky, Becky, Becky--soooo glad to see you onboard. My energy level has been up so I'm busy and am on FB hardly at all. So sorry the job (and pay when you get it) is so sucky. Happy you can find joy in husband and child. I've worked for dumb-#S@% bosses and it's bad. Once out there though, something else might pop up for you. Keep the faith. Stephanie, hope you enjoyed your party whichever you chose last night. I'm focused on that latte. Plan to go to town and get one tomorrow. Stan went out very cranky to see if he could get someone to do his blood-work and xray to investigate his hip problem. No call-back from the Health Dept where his doctor sent him. Hope he has better luck in person--there or at the hospital. Eric, I shall live vicariously through you. Too bad but I remember when I was that person barreling through life lol. Have to remember how much younger you are than I. Had a moment this morning when I printed an email from my accountant and thought it was another "pages" long one. No, it was original messages included so hope she's pretty much done with me. Have a great day everyone. Judy in KW
  7. I agree with Stephanie. Find the right time for you and go home and live life with your kids. DH probably needs you about now too. Judy in KW
  8. Loved the Tour and Graduation pics. The Graduation pics brought back old memories of my college administrator and instructor days. Graduation was such a proud event. Judy in KW
  9. I know it's Sunday but wanted to pop in here and say WOW Katie. I was watching the videos on youtube and was so impressed. How great seeing Dr West and so many of our recognized friends from LCSC. Thanks for the link. Judy in KW
  10. I'm an advanced LC survivor of over 4 yrs with my eye on 5. Yes, it is terrifying at first. Once you get settled into a treatment plane you move into what we call a new normal. I worked in my orchid room today, maybe not as long as I used to but...my new normal and it's o.k. Hang in there and keep us posted on how the doctors decide to treat. We're here to help with any support you need. Judy in KW
  11. Afternoon All! It has been a glorious Fall day in KW--morning in the 60's, afternoon the 70's. We had our young man come and help get things ready for the relandscaper. Yes, I'm anxious Lily but have to get him to return my call first lol. Now at least I can leave a message that I'm all ready and need a start date. Judy, sorry about the pain. Hope you're better by the follow-up or they can give you something so you can rest. Here's hoping that little bugger they've seen doesn't light up. Eric, why do I think you'll be attending more graduations lol. Glad you enjoyed this one. And being ready for winter is a good thing. You never know when it's coming rolling in anymore. Enjoy your night out. I don't have the energy for a Sat. night out but am pleasantly fatigued. Two days after chemo and I went out to show the boy (and Stan) what I'd gotten started for the landscaping. Had to back out then because the poor lad didn't need two bosses. Had to sneak back in a couple of times so everything got done but spent most of my time in the orchid room. All in all a great time. Have a terrific evening everyone. Judy in KW
  12. Back in briefly. I'm missing my usual steroid high today. Have been tired and pushing myself through chores and trip to hospital for shot. I had a reaction to the shot last time so was advised to take a benadryl before it. How come the benadryl didn't help me get to sleep earlier last night lol. Judy, sorry about the hard time at Gilda's. Hope you find a way to enjoy your girl's night this weekend. Stephanie, so sorry to hear M is having a hip problem too. And everything takes so long. Stan called the clinic that his doctor told him to call for blood work and xray. He called twice this afternoon. No call back. He'll probably have to go to the hospital to have them done next week. Then the Orthopedic appmt not until Dec 10. At least he got a script for an anti-inflamatory. Hope M gets relief soon. Eric, I don't remember the details but my daughter got caught up in one of those buy now pay later things. If not out and out scams, they are designed to get your money in a sneaky way. Sounds like you are on a fast advocacy track. We are all happy about that. LaDonna, sounds like your life is busy in a good way. The best is you and your daughter making meaningful friendships. Good for you. Eric, I miss Annette too and especially her unfailing humor. I was lying in bed last night wishing I could still be funny. I was once, but never like Annette or Becky or some of our other funny folk. Wish I could roll back time. Have a good evening everyone. Judy in KW
  13. Morning All! O.k. all you working Joes and Janes, this is your big day. Hope it goes super fast for you. Late night last night. Taking the steriod pills day before day of and day after chemo again. That's in addition to the bag with chemo. I'd run out and didn't take them regularly anyway. When I asked for the script, Dr T said she prescribes them for Taxotere to help swelling. Well, guess what I was having and never made the connection lol!! Late night wasn't so bad. Read and jumped up and down and out to the living area to check things I'd forgotten. Don't watch TV or get on the computer anymore. Word is they wake up your brain and make sleeping harder. Stan's finally off to the doctor to get his first check of his hip. It's his PCP but he's due for a yearly anyway. Blood work will confirm/deny gout. He has it but when it does flare up occasionally, it's usually in his feet. He called the best local Orthopedic man and got an appointment for Dec something! He's having to sit around ALOT which he doesn't do well and when the pain hits, it excruciating. I'm good. Day after chemo my best, I managed to sleep to 8:30 so I am riding my steroid high as usual today. Trying not to overdue. Have the kid coming tomorrow to do the preliminary work for the landscaping. I want to be in and out supervising Stan supervising the kid lol. Hope to hear from some of you and everyone have a great day. Judy in KW
  14. Terrific news. Thanks Ginny. Just wish I were a surgical candidate. Judy in KW
  15. Hip Hip Horaaay! Congratulations to Mom. :D :D Judy in KW
  16. Afternoon All! I'm at the hospital in KW getting my chemo as I type. Hate this. Get a little down everytime I'm getting ready to go. O.k. once here. Dinner at the neighbors was fabulous. She made some kind of dish with Salmon on the bottom and browned crusty fat scallops on top. Never had it and it was amazing. Two of my favorite seafoods too. Bud, thank you soooo much for the pic. You and Rose look amazing. Looks like a good time. Stephanie, it sounds like you are appreciating the benefits of being off chemo. I've been experiencing a hair texture thing with Taxoete. My hair has been falling out gradually for months. It's thin compared to my normal thick head of hair but the texture is the worst. It looks like fried hair, like I had one or more too many bad perms. What we won't endure to stay alive huh lol. Well what can I say, I'm just here being pumped full of fluid. Can't wait to be done. Then back tomorrow for a shot. Then I can forget it again for 3 wks. Have a great day everyone. Judy in KW
  17. Thanks Dawn. Crossing my fingers with you. Let us know when you get the results. Judy in KW
  18. Hi, good to see you. Try goole. I got one years ago online. Judy in KW
  19. Wow, congratulations! Thanks for sharing the good news with us. Judy in KW
  20. Dawn, I am so sorry for this. I'm gathering the chest was clear and the extended chemo was for the brain lesions. Hope things turn out well for you in the 3-mo followup scan. I know a little bit about working between more than one onc. The one in Key West who is only supposed to be overseeing my infusions here said to me yesterday, "Let's face it, most people with your diagnosis would be dead by now." That was only part of his spiel disagreeing with how my MDA Onc is treating me. Hope you can gain some confidence with these new docs. It's tough. Judy in KW
  21. abc my favorite news channel now for yet another reason. Thanks Ginny. Judy in KW
  22. Great, thanks for posting this. Another reason for abc to be my favorite news channel. Judy in KW
  23. Hey guy, I missed a day or two here and there and you slipped right in. Congratulations. Glad the little "extension" in time turned out fab anyway. They found my cancer in Sep 07, started treatment Oct 07 so we are in the same ballpark timewise. I'm not NED but still kickin and am found of saying "keeping my eye on five." Judy in KW
