  6. My treatments will start next Monday March 3/08 Chemo only, since Cancer is too advanced I was told. Stage 3 T1, N2, MO. Adenocarcinoma. Chemo will consist of Carboplatin, Taxol & Avastin. They gave me a prescription of Dexamethasone to take the day before and the Day of the Chemo. The Oncologist the Chief of Thoracic Medical Oncology, said the Cancer could be a stage 4, which does not sound very promising. I am very scared. I think I will need your support next week. Thank you in advance. Renate

  12. I am going to see another oncologist for a 2nd opinion this Friday. In addition I would like to sent a sample of my biopsy to the Anderson Clinic in Texas, to make sure I have the right diagnosis. Does somebody know if Medicare pays for these services? I am seing the Surgeon again today, hope they will tell me about my treatman plan. Everything is going so slow overhere. It's been 2 weeks since my biopsy, I am getting itchy. Want to get started. Renate

  14. Hi Wendy, Thanks for your kind words. I have read your profile, you have been going through a lot.And you are so jung. How did or do you function on a daily basis? With all the associated side effects, have you been in bed a lot? Can you tell me a little bit about it. I will see the Thoracic Surgeon next week, I think he wants to biopsy the two nodules in my upper und lower lobe on the right side. Also next week I will see an Oncologist at the Cancer Clinic close to where I live, and get a second opinion. He is not specialized in Lung Cancer, just General Oncology. Is this a bad Idea? Is your Oncologist specialized for Lung Cancer? Have a nice weekend. Renate

  21. Hello to everybody. I am amazed about all your answers and support. I am so glad I found this board. As soon as I have the test results from the Biopsy and the Treatment options I will write again. I live in Atlanta and go the Emory University Winship Cancer Clinic, they are very specialized, I feel I am in good hands. I have read all your Profiles and I am already very scared, when I read about all your sufferings and pains you had endured. Last but not least, I would like you to know, I am from Germany and came to States when I was already 20 years out of school, therefore, please overlook any spelling mistakes. Renate
  22. I am a 71 year old female, healthy exercise 5 Days a week and felt great until, I received a routine Chest x ray which showed some abnormalties. The a CT scan, which showed 2 Nodules of the right upper lobe suspicious for neoplasm. A enlarged pretracheal lymph node was also seen. Then a Pet Scan was done. The nodules are highly suspicious for metastatic disease, with abnormal FDG uptake. The lymph node is also suspicious for metastatic disease. A biopsy was done 2/5/08 last Tuesday. Have not heard anything, not results yet. Also saw a Thoracic Surgeon, he said my only option would be Chemo & radiation. Is there anybody who has the same kind of Lung Cancer and can you share whatever you went through. Any reply is greatly appreciated
