  1. janet,

I was just trying to help you. I am not a doctor, and agree that the health care system in the US sucks, but I also don't believe that they lie just to get your money, I think rather they have to give the worst case senario, and with treatment many people live, so you do what is right for you, but I hope you can work through this anger because I don't imagine you want to live the rest of your life mad and also having your kids see you like this.

The other thing is, do something about it. Write to Oprah, write a book, start a lung cancer walk, or run to help people like yourself. Being angry and bitter doesn't help people, maybe write to your governor, or the president about the health care system, use your anger to help others.

I hope God does bless you and your family and I apologize if my posts made you more mad, I was just trying to help. I believe God gives us opertunities to help our selves and I also believe He works in mysterious ways, and maybe your oncologist isn't the lying sack of crap you think he is.

    BIG HUGS to you!

A man and a woman are driving down the same road at the same time.

As they pass each other the woman leans out the window, points and yells, “PIG! ”

The man immediately leans out his window, shakes his fist and shouts back, “WITCH!"

They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next corner, he slams into a pig that had wandered into the middle of the road.

    If only men would listen

SICKNESS AND RELATED LEAVE: We will no longer accept a doctor statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

SURGERY: Operations are now banned. As long as you are an employee here, you need all your organs. You should not consider removing anything. We hired you intact. To have something removed constitutes a breach of employment.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, Relatives or coworkers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases, where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early, provided your share of the work is done enough.

YOUR OWN DEATH: This will be accepted as an excuse. However, we require at least two weeks notice as it is your duty to train your own replacement.

RESTROOM USE: Entirely too much time is being spent in the restroom. In the future, we will follow the practice of going in alphabetical order. For instance, all employees whose names begin with ''''''''''''''''A'''''''''''''''' will go from 8:00 to 8:10, employees whose names begin with ''''''''''''''''B'''''''''''''''' will go from 8:10 to 8:20 and so on. If you''''''''''''''''re unable to go at your allotted time, it will be necessary to wait until the next day when your turn comes again. In extreme emergencies employees may swap their time with a coworker. Both employees'''''''''''''''' supervisors in writing must approve this exchange. In addition, there is now a strict 3-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, and the stall door will open.

PAYCHECK GUIDE: The following helpful guide has been prepared to help our employees better understand their paychecks:

  4. Sorry if news of Judy B is taking over the board, but I am so happy I can't tell you. She is my mother, my best friend, my support, my everything.

She had her surgery on Tuesday Sept 16th, and it went extremely well. She had two vertebre removed and has a plate in her back, and now is home. *fast* she waked today to the mailbox, and is starting physical therapy. I have every confidence she will be back to herself soon. As it has been less than a week, I am surprised she is up so fast.

This is all great news, two weeks ago, they said they couldn't do surgery and the prognosis(spell?) wasn't good, so this is great news.

Thank you for all your prayers and support,

    Stephanie for Judy B :D:D:D:D

  5. Mom is home and I talked to her today. She is doing well, and as of today they will start chemo to make sure they got it all out, or to get the rest out. I think there was some concern over no margin? I am not sure what that means, but she now has a steal plate in her back, I am sure that will screw up an MRI, maybe I am in denial, but I like to think they got it all and she will be fine.

She misses everyone and I will try to be her voice for a while and keep you all updated.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.

Send cards to her at her house if you want

Did I already post that here? Sorry I am becoming Mom, as I am repeating myself.

    Cheers Stephanie

  6. There was a man who lived in a house.

One day there was a flood, and the house was filling up with water, and fast.

Well a truck came by and the driver yelled to the man, "get in and I'll drive you out of here!"

The man replied, "No thank you, God will save me"

Then after and hour or so the house was full to the second floor, and a boat came by and the captin said, "Come on board and I will take you to dry land."

The man replied, "No thank you, God will save me."

Then the house was completely covered by water and the man was sitting on the roof, and a helicopter came by, and the pilot yelled down to the man, "I'm dropping a latter get on and I'll take you to safety"

Again the man replied, "No thank you, God will save me."

Of course the man drowned, and when he got to Heavan and met God, he said, "Why didn't you save me?"

God said, "What are you talking about? I sent you a car, a boat and a helicopter"

  7. Your Dad sounds like mine. He only has bladder cancer and it is minor compared to Mom's lung cancer, but he still smokes like a chimney, and it took us "tough love" to get him to stop drinking and also get treatment for the cancer. He still doesn't really acknowledge the fact that he has cancer.

So what I did right after Sept 11,(because he was so drunk and in the hosiptal with cancer and other problems that he didn't even know Sept 11th happened) is write him a nasty letter, well a hard letter telling him to starighten up his crap, because Cris (my sister) and I couldn't handle loosing him too. (we lost our brother earlier in the year, non cancer related) and so it took tough love to get him to starighten up. This was just before we found out our Mom (judy B) had lung cancer.

I don't know your dad, but I think you need to tell him staright out, look Dad you need to quit the smoking and let us know what is going on!

Good luck, I know it is hard, but sometimes our parents need us to become the parents for a bit.

  8. Dear Janet,

Oh my God, your post, I don't know what to say, but I am going to try this. My mother, Judy B, was told they couldn't operate in 2002, and that she would probably die soon, and she forced them to operate and she is still around, also she wasn't going to do Chemo or radiation, just like yourself, becasue why be so sick the last months of your life? I understand that, but she did it and did survive, yes it came back and yes she just went through surgery again and again the odds are against her.

I guess the point is, if there is "any" chance to survive, then try it. Get a second opinion, a third, a fourth, anything.

I wish I could help you, and I wish there was a cure, but for now all we can do is fight and pray, and lean on each other.

Please think about it. I know it is hard and easy to be so angry, and I am there with ya, I get it , I do, and you are not your family, they might have not been successful in their treatment, but you might be, and if you give up now, you'll never know.

My heart goes out to you and your children and please think about it.

  9. I talked to Mom, Jusy B this morning, and she is doing great, She sounds great and from what I hear she looks great to. My stepbrother Russell said they will be out playing golf soon! *hahahha* Anyhow she is thinking about everyone here, and wants me to keep giving updates and anything I can do for her, so if you need someone to email etc, please feel free. I am not as witty as Mom, but I can try to help out. :)

My heart is in the right place.

So she is going to get chemo and then she will live to be an old lady, or so the doctor said! I think she will be. she sure is an inspiration and I told her not to scare us like that again, and she said she won't *hahha*
