  1. Becky-

Glad to hear NED - can't tell you much about the gall bladder - they found a stone in my last CT scan - don't do anything for it, but it's there. ENJOY your NED status!!!

  3. Just one step at a time............just one tiny step at a time.............just one tiny step at a time..................

You'll get there. It is very tough to wait, but keep your outlook up and let your Dad know you'll be there with him - that "what if" game can NEVER be won!! (I know I have done it - I think most of us have!!)

    Praying for good results -

  4. Jeanne -

Welcome - I am sure you will find plenty of survivors here to help with information and encourgement for your Dad.

I agree with Margaret - seeing another oncologist would be the next best step. You do need to work as a team.

As for the exhaustion - well, your Dad has been through a lot and it does take time to get back your strength. The Procrit I received did not work for several weeks - I don't remember how long exactly, but I remember checking that out because it seemed to take FOREVER and I wasn't feeling that great. But, eventually, it kicked in and I didn't even need the last few doses they had prescribed.

We're all right here for the both of you -

    God Bless-

  5. Hi Frank-

Welcome - glad you came out of hiding and hope you will stay with us. I live in your neck of the woods - just near Freedom, PA. I was just up your way not too long ago. Beautiful. Will add you to my prayer list for members on this board and their families - please keep us posted!

By the way, where did you go for your surgery?? I was at AGH in Pgh. -

  6. Greg -

I'm afraid I don't have any advice this a.m., but wanted you to know that I will keep you in my prayers as you re-start your fight with this disease. You have all of us in your corner and we will be right there beside you - God bless and keep us posted - (((((HUGS))))) and prayers -

  7. Just an update -

Thank you all so much for the encouragement - I have taken some of the advice and put it to use. I am certified to transcribe medical records, but everyone seems to want experience, hence the problem. That and the fact that to work at home, I would need additional equipment, software, etc.

I came across an old article in the newspaper, which I thought I had thrown out months ago. In it, a disabled friend of ours was helped by a govt. agency to find a job and locate equipment. Turns out, I was eligible also. It was the Office for Vocational Rehabilitation. I am pursuing the same avenues as before, but they will help with perhaps on-the-job training, or job-sharing, etc. I have already met with them and was pleasantly surprised by my case-worker's attitude - she was great!!

I have been recharged and am ready to move ahead. It is great having so many friends behind me as I move forward!! Hugs to you all!
