    Mom still Smoking

    Hello,

    Having lived with smokers most of my life I know how tough it is for them to quit smoking. I am wondering if your Mom may be feeling depressed, scared or stressed out. I think this is the time your Mom needs your support the most. Letting her know that you are there for her and that she can talk to you instead of lighting up a cigarette when she's feeling down, depressed or stressed out might help. Like Jen said, anti-depressants might also help your Mom.

    Be strong for your Mom, she's going to need it.

    I can just imagine how you are feeling. We have a one year old papillon that we just love to pieces, I cannot even begin to think how we are going to feel if we lost him. I will be praying for you faithful friend.

    Don't we all just love NED??!! Congratulations! Wish I could say something of help for the PCI problems but just want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Praying that whatever's bothering/ailing you eases up soon.

    Hi Cheryl,

    It certainly is not the news we all wanted to hear. I admire your bravery and courage. You are going to fight this disease on your own terms. I pray that the GVAX trial opens up for you and that more advances in research is made available to people that are battling this disease. I will be praying for your continued good disposition, that God grants you more wonderful years here on earth.

    Hi Berisa,

    I am sorry to to hear of your Dad's sad news. Please be strong for your Dad. You've been your Dad's rock throughout all of his ordeal. He is very lucky to have you. Please know that I will be praying for your Dad and you, that you will have the strength to go through this difficult times and that your Dad's suffering will be alleviated somehow.

    Hi Andrea,

    I'm afraid I do not have anwers to your questions as I am kind of in the same boat as you. I'd also be intersted in the answers. I have decided that on my next annual check up coming up I will ask for all possible tests to be done on me so as to get as much baseline information as possible. I am going to ask for a chest x-ray or would a ct scan be better?

    Anyway, thanks for asking these questions!

    Welcome to the family. I am so glad that you found us. As the days go on I am pretty sure you will have a lot of questions and concerns. Just log in here and post them and somehow somebody will try to anwer you. As you will get to know the various members of this group you will notice the large amount of long term survivors who have defied statistics and their doctors' prognosis. There is a lot of hope yet for your brother, just hang in there.

    Your Mom is very lucky to have you as her daughter. Hang in there and treasure every moment. Whatever happens, hopefully for the better, it's God's will.

    Glad that you found us. You can talk, vent, scream, cry with us here. This message board was created just for that and more. Understandably you are feeling confused and alarmed but after a while you will begin to be able to take things in stride. You will get a lot of information from this board, please come often and ask lots of questions.
