A big welcome to ya and so glad you found us!!!
Know one should have to go through this disease alone and thank God we do not!! I'm also starting WBR, 2 mets. showed up after 2 and 1/2 years of being cancer free. I begin tomorrow and go for 4 weeks, we'll have to keep one another posted on our progress.

How very nice to hear from you again,
and I'm so happy your getting along OK. The thought of you and Mike and what you shared still brings a smile to me. You two were blessed to have had each other. and your right God has plans for all of us. It's in accepting that I find peace today.

Hi all;
ALAS; moving forward at last,
and feeling good about it!!I met with my new radiology oncologist and staff today. I new I was in the right place when I saw the ALCASE poster on the wall and loads of LC inf. I told em they made my day as a lung cancer survivor .
Anyway, they are part of the Overlook Hospital Group in Northern NJ, they are affiliated with the Cancer Institute of NJ and Brain Tumor Insitute of NJ and have been performing sterotactic surgery since 1994. More than anything though, a very, thoughtfull and caring group.
Tomorrow, AM they will be making a mask of my face,
, Yea this outta be good!! and we will start doing 4 weeks of WBR to start. It will be a lower dossage for a longer period which will hopefully maximize effectiveness and min. long term effects. After an additional 2 weeks, we'll take new scans and if required do the sterotactic radeosurgery. The tumors are small so we may have a chance here!! I still have issue's related to the possibility of cancer in my chest and my med. onc. is working on a plan for that, but it's not as pressing as the brain. Good to be a SURVIVOR today! and to start getting it on!!

I'm sure it all get sorted out with a little time! I'll be praying for ya!! On a real positive note, it is really good that your latist scan came out so well !!!

Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!!
Like you, I have been recently restaged to IV, not something that any of ever wanted but then it is what it is. I think the ladies have given ya some great advice as far as relaxing a bit and I can't really add to it. Except to tell ya that your not alone and that the most important thing I am TODAY! is a Survivor! When I stay grateful and try to enjoy what I have today, I seem to be better off.

Got inspired when the subject came up @ chat last night!! I'm headin off to the local hospital to attend a smokers anonymous meeting. I got my LCSC buttons on a message to tell!! A 1-lunger, ex-smoker with brain mets, this is gonna be interesting!!

The latist report from American Lung Association has our state at all " F's "
when it comes to tobacco control!!!!
Like this is such a surprise!! Of course we do have that one exception on taxes, YES an "A " , Ohh how
they love to tax us!!! We are top in the nation!!

"Tuff stuff" you and your dad are going through, thank goodness he has you in his corner, you'll both be in my prayers!!
I have the brain mets, symptoms to watch for are:
1. A persistent headache with or without vomiting.
2. seizures - ( change in type or frequency )
3. double vision, mental changes, speech difficulty
4. stroke ( brain hemorrhage)
5. confusion
6. Any numbness, arm or leg weakness, back pain, difficulty walking.
7. loss of control of bowel or bladder.
note: numbers 6 &7 are more consistent with spinal mets.
