I had a squamous adenocarcinoma in my left lung and had to have a pnumonectomy in feb 2002. the operation went well and saved my life but I am still in pain having to take 400 mg of tramadol per day.its been nearly 18 months since the op, and the chest pain I have will not decrease as if I miss a dose of the pain killers -200mg in the morning and 200mg at night ,the pain comes on 5 or 6 hours later .and is tremendous. If anybody has had this experience I would appriciate any info. just hope one day in the near future it will ease, giving me a better quality of life. living in hope paul.

Paul,

Your pain is called Post Thoracic Pain Syndrome. See my post in this category.

I can certainly sympathize w/you. I also had my surgery in Feb 2002.

Do you have a Pain Clinic near you?

You'll see that there are no pain killer meds in what I am doing, for that I'm eternally grateful. I don't do well on pain meds.

I will be updating...
