Prognosis is not good at this time Updated 1/5/2007 1000 PM Former NASCAR Winston Cup champion and television analyst Benny Parsons is in the Intensive Care Unit of the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C., being treated for complications stemming from his battle with lung cancer last summer. Parsons, 65, the 1973 champion, who has not smoked since 1978, said in July he had lung cancer. He underwent intensive treatment and said in October his cancer was in remission. He was admitted to the Carolinas Medical Center on Dec. 26. Parsons is not allowed visitors but fans and associates can send him e-mail messages at bp@goprn.com.
