    I agree Steve...back injury for sure...a few months ago I had a scare too....something suspicious between the chest bone....ordered a Ct/scan...unremarkable and no malignancy...Praise God!!!!....praying the same for you....You know these radioloigist pick up even a speck of dust...but still better to be safe....Go for it and good luck

    Lung Cancer and Smoking

    Hi Shelly....

    A big hearty welcome to you...sorry you are here but you certainly have found the right place....This board has been my lifeline....

    I hear your frustration and believe me we ALL feel the same...Just recently I was at the doctors..(I couldn't get ahold of my own) a walk in medical center...I had a very bad flu and with my history of LC I was afraid it would turn into puenmonia....

    When the doctor came in and asked me questions...I also told her I was a lung cancer survivors for 3+ years and the first thing that came out of her mouth was "did you smoke"....grrrrrrrrrrrrr....I litterly shook my finger at her and said "yes I smoked about 10 years ago...and YOU should know better than to ask a question like that"....and as a matter of fact...my LC did NOT come from smoking ...it was BAC which has nothing to do with smoking....I shut her down in her tracks....I hate hate hate that question....So what if I did and still smoked...do I deserve LC....you idiot....I'll never go back to her again...she needs to get back to her text books...

    Shelly please come back and post more ...you will get such support here that will make you feel so much better...So sorry about your dx...you are much too young...but you have a wonderful hb and beautiful children to get you thru this and you'll be fine...Many people on this board with you stage are doing just fine...keep up the good fight and hang in there while we are all waiting for the BIG C

    Don ...praying for you for excellents scan's and something that you will be really excited about...and so will we.....keeping everything crossed....You have worked so hard and you deserve the best

    Depression is the 'pit's'.Don..I keep my Zanax close at hand....I think I will be taking them forever...they are a crutch for me and I like the quick fix...so go for it Don if it makes you feel better...And I really don't give a hoot if they are addicted.... :-)...gonna take them anyway...

    Hi Pat and welcome to the group...Of course sorry you had to find us but glad you did...

    With that being said...I WOULD RUN OUT OF THAT ONC'S OFFICE WITH THE SPEED OF LIGHTNING....I've heard a lot of stories about different Onc's...but this one takes the cake...He doesn't even know what he is talkin about....He is so contadictive....I would try and talk to your FIL to get a second opinion and who know's..he may like the second one better...

    Best wishes and prayers for all of you...believe me WE know how frightening this could be...but if you get a good doctor and a good game plan ..you can revolve your life around that and feel better about everything...

    Barb...I know like the rest it's the damn machine...scares the begeebi's out of you....Don't you remember just recently my CT said..."possible enlarged lymph node' ..it was the machine...showed up on the Pet as unremarkable with no malignancy...Praise God...

    Hate that you have to wait the 3 months thou....but Barb...8 yrs with no problem sounds pretty positive to me....take care...you'll be fine...
