  1. Karen,

I wanted to welcome you to the group.

I'm sorry your family is going through such tough times.

Hang in there and continue to come to this site to gain knowledge and support.

PS...... I'll be praying that the new chemo works for your FIL.

  2. "Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year. He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear, with its hopes and invitations, to waste a moment on the yesterdays."

  3. Hi Beth,

There is so much information on this site about Tarceva. (And online too)

This new option is very near and dear to me right now. My Mom has been taking it for two months and it has been a godsend for her. She is responding to it and feeling great. It has given her back the quality of life she knew before cancer. I will pray that it will do the same for you mother as well.

    Good luck!!!!

    Please keep us updated!!!

  4. I'm so sorry you are going through this painful, situation with your Mom. I'm not sure if this will help, but my Mom acted the same way. It was so painful because you know for once there is nothing you can do to make everything "ok."

The will to survive isn't something you can make someone have. We can only be there for them...and try to stay positive. A positive attitude is rather addicting!!!

I hope your Mother will soon reach out to you without hurting you in the process.

Just hang in there...stay strong...and continue to do the best you can. It's almost like a test, but you'll come through it ok. You're not alone, we are all here to listen. Please lean on us when you need to get it out and for advice. Although I haven't met anyone from this website, I still feel the pain when I read the words from others, and I think it is important to know we are all in this together.

And remember......Take good care of yourself too-

    Melinda

  5. Hi Troy,

It's good to know exactly what is going on.....and want to know exactly what your mother is going through. I wish I could help, but like you this is all so new and each step along the way there is always so much more to learn.

Try not to dwell on the words too much though......and bask in the wonderful news from your mothers scans. Congrats to both of you!!!!

  6. somewhat responsible.....what? why??

It's vacation...........just go have fun and enjoy yourSELF!

After all, escaping from the hustle and bustle of "real life." doesn't come nearly enough!

Wishing you lots of luck gamblin' :D

  7. Nope, not me. I'm only lucky enough to have two sisters. One older and one younger. The younger one is only two minutes younger though.

She HATES it when I call her younger :D

TPBM has some very interesting plans this weekend....

  8. Ann......what a great question yesterday. When I got to work and was checking the website, as I do every morning, I couldn't help but laugh at all the replies. I love people that have a great sense of humor. This topic seemed to bring it out in everyone!! LOL

It might be difficult to top this one....can't wait to hear your question today!! :D

  9. Pat,

I'm so sorry to hear that Brians doctor appointment didn't go so well.

I hope that you are two are able to enjoy a nice weekend together and that next week will be a whole new start. After a little break, and the shots to get the blood counts up......time to come out fightin' again.

    Hang in there Pat!!!

    Melinda
