I just crack up everytime I think about Allan living on doughnuts. Thomas used to eat doughnuts all the time and he somehow lose his sweet tooth. His doc said its probably becuase I've been feeding him too much oatmeal!.
Anyway, I seem to panic I my gas runs low.

I'm so sorry. I am a little buffled why the doctors ordered to do chemo first when they know he had fluids in his heart and send him home?
God Bless you and your family. You are right, damn this cancer beast.

Hi Marie:
Are you taking Glutamine and B6 supplements? It's suppose to help with neuropathy a little bit. My husband completed 3 taxotere and so far ok. knock on wood. He had the runs on the second week, imodium took care of it. His eyes is watery all time like the same side effects with Alimta. Do you have a watery eyes? I hope you will feel better soon.

How much is the cookbook?

Jodi:
It might just be sit back. Don't lose hope just yet. If she is responding to treatments, it might just well be the side effects that will subside in due time. None the less, I will be praying for your entire family.
God Bless

You should be able to let your mom do a little exercise. Just ask her to lift her arms up and down or raise her legs up and down while she is in bed or sitting on the chair. Every little bit help to raise her strength. When Thomas was in rehab, every time he was awake, I put hin on the chair and we do our own exercises. If I depended on those PT or OT workers, he probably is still in bed today. And all his kids and grand kids take turns in giving him foot massage every time they visited him. Also make sure you get your mom those Olay wipes for her face, it doesn't need any rinseng and keep her skin nice looking. Take Care and God Bless.

Thomas had 15 of those nodules all less 5mm last year. After his first treatment all those buggers disappered. The CT/PET did not pick up anything at all except the big tumors. So I guess they can all go away.

Congratulations, very happy for you.

Just let her rests. Maybe add B12 on her regimen? My husband is normally wiped out on the 3rd day after chemo. I let him sleep but I have to make sure he gets up and do his little walking around the house. I also bought him those massager with long handle where he can run it all over his arms, legs, back front, neck, anything to get the blood flowing somehow. I hope your mom feels better soon.

Absolutely! My husband did not eat for 3 days, I called the head nurse at the oncs office and told her. She called right back and said that MEGACE has been called in to our pharmacy and it is ready for pick up. It is very important that he get his nourishment in order to heal. Every little bit will help. Take care and God Bless.

Carleen: I know exactly what you are feeling. I would say every bit of it. Since his onc has not offered any treatment plans, I think it might time again to hit the road and look for a new onc who can offer something? There is got to be something they can give him to keep this beast from growing. Maybe even a very minimal dose of chemo while his body is healing or recuperating from prior heavy treatments. My heart is bleeding for you and Keith and I do admire your love for him. At this time in my husbands life, I don't want to be away from him not for a single second if I can only afford not to go to work. My heart aches every time I go to work every morning. Carleen, I am holding Keith up to God right now. You stay strong for him, please.
God Bless
Love to you both.

Don & Lucie:
I'm glad Lucie is feeling better today. Seems like they are giving him a heavy duty treatments there. Does Lucie have a walkman to listen to some music while doing the 8 hours chemo? Thomas seems to relax well with those. He is hooked on audio books. I let him listen to some funny audio stuff and the nurses all cracked and said that they just giggle watching him sleeping and gigling in his sleep on that chemo recliner for 8 hours. Anything to keep their mind occupied and away from this LC beast is a good thing, I think. God Bless you both. You two are just an inspiration.
