  1. Just a quick update on my husband Thomas. Finished 3rd Alimta yesterday 3/3/06. So far ok, sleeping a lot but ok. Primary Care Doc ordered nebulizer and put him on breathing treatment 4x a day to help with coughing blues and perhaps relieves SOB. We are scheduled for CT/PET on the 13th of March. I am dreading and again a nerve wreck as I can be. Got a valium anybody? Anyway, we could use the prayer warriors again. Thank you God for this group of amazing people.

    Love,

  2. First of all Woohoo TO Dons Brain MRI.

    Praying for a good PET.

I have to crack up with the terminology of this disease. When we went for Thomas's MRI reading, the ONC, used his lip and eyelid and pointed on Thomas's head saying there's nothing up there. He then explained that's and ONC's joke. Boy before this illness, I probably would kicked somebody who would dare to say, the're nothing in my brain. :-)

    Congratulations again Don.

    Love,

  3. June:

Did the doctors say why chemo won't work for you?

How would you know if you haven't tried?

Is it because of COPD? and they are concern with side effects? Please do change oncologist. The are

plenty of options, especially with someone who started out with Stage 1B.

  4. Sue:

I read your post this morning and can't find the words to say to you. I'm crying for you and your family. This disease is so evil. Please do accept our deepest sincere sympathy.

God bless you and your family in this difficult time

    Take care of you.

    Love,

    Malou

  5. Take her home. Hire a live caregiver, ask everyone to cheap in with the helps salary. Enjoy each moment with mom. Make her bedroom as comfortable as possible. Get her a hospital bed, a big screen TV, and nice comfy recliner, and spoil her. Easy for me to say, but I actually been this road with my mother in-law and her husband refused to do anything considering he was also 94 years old. I have to do what's right, in her case, money was no object, so I know she deserves the best and first class care. My mother in-law lived another 10 years with a good help and good nutrition. God Bless you Lori. Take mom home and relish each moment with her.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Love to all

  6. My beloved husband is doing good. He was in the hospital 2 weeks ago after falling at the oncologist office. He has been falling quite abit for the past 3 months now. It usually happens when he first get up from his recliner. His face would freeze and look like some form of seizure, it last for about 5 seconds and he is back to normal. I told his onc the first time it happened and he ordered brain MRI back in Dec. he was cleaned empty headed club official member. Anyway, the falls is still happening and the onc is not concerned and just said that it could be side effects of Carbo/Gemzar. 2 Weeks ago his urine was dark and his apetite was zero, onc asked him to come in for a complete work up. They asked for a urine sample and he fell right there in the bathroom with nurse in his back. She saw the whole expression I keep telling them, they panic and called 911. ER doc ordered Full body CT, results are good and he is clean in the Brain dept, though is gallstones are causing some disruptions once again. He was so dehydrated and was put on anti biotic. Anyway he was released home after 3 days with a new refreshed looked and feeling better. Thanks for lestening.

God bless us all. I hate this disease very much.

    Love to all

Sorry I'm rambling, but I know this update is long overdue.

  7. Karen:

I have been praying for you and Ken. I know exactly what you are going through. My tears fall down my checks anywhere anytime. I am very melancholy inside me, but I have to put a big o smile in front of my husband. Our favorite words, together, we are going to kick this cancerous beast in his chest and we laugh it out.

God Bless you Karen and Ken. Keep the faith.

    Love,

    Malou
