My lung cancer was my third primary. The oncologist told me that having one primary puts you at higher risk for another. Yipee.
It was also explained to me that very small nodules may not light up. And they do sound small.
My small lc was removed 7 years ago this April. No further treatment.

Many of us are from the Phila area. Fox Chase, U of Penn, Jefferson--all renowned cancer centers.
That said, all of my doctors are at Pennsylvania Hospital, and I think they are terrific.
Several opinions are wise.

Good news indeed!
FYI: I lived with a multi-nodular goiter for 19 years before it grew to the point it was restricting my windpipe (which showed on my CT scans.)
found endocrinologists a bit frustrating--one had me on thyroid meds for 10 years, then the next one told me it didn't do anything for my condition. And no one told me for a long time that taking calcium at the same time as the thyroid meds negated the effect of both.
good luck

thanks all for your input. I told her about my post and she was very happy. I have my own medical team at Pennsylvania Hospital, but I wanted her to hear options. Will let you know the outcome.

Friend's dad just had a CT for a spot on the lung.
When my lc was found, I was already under an oncologist's care because of the breast cancer, so I just did what he told me, went where he sent me.
So here is my question: Which doctor did you see next after the CT scan? Surgeon? Pulminoligist? Oncologist?
And those of you in Phila:
what surgeon did you see, and which hospital? Would you recommend them?
I just want to give her some info if needed.

Of course you got all those hugs and kisses cause you are her special MOM! Each and every moment is special, and we in the cancer world know that. Your older ones, well, we want our kids to do those things--go to dances, be with friends.
Sending you warm and fuzzy thoughts

We lost our beloved dog this summer after 13 years, and we still miss him terribly. This was our first Christmas in the house without him. here are 2 websites that I found that helped immensely. I hope they help you like they did me.

Good news about the radiation--I had some very bad skin reactions to mine--so maybe there is a ray of sunshine coming your way???
Whining is good to share--then it is GONE. And you can continue with your life.

I know I've been away from the group for a while and decided tonight was a good night to return. Health is just FINE!
I am doing just fine, and Life is Good! most of the time When school started in September I became a little bit busy with a class of 25 that included many special eds and even a non-english speaking boy from Thailand. The special ed students have kept me hopping, and the Thailand boy has been a fun adventure. Put with that a brand new math series that take me 1/2 hour of prep each night (and remember I've taught for 30 years)
The son is a senior (will graduate next December) and just got a 3.0 this semester . We are redoing the house, and I realized one day last month that I am actually looking to the future.
Cancer has been in my life since 1993. My son was in first grade, then 6th grade, then 9th grade. In one year he will graduate from college.
I think that cancer cloud is finally lifting.

We lost our 13 year old dog last July. I still miss him every single day.
that said, I cannot imagine how people do this when losing PEOPLE they love.
Google this book:
How to Survive the Loss of a Love by a Dr. bloomfield.
And hugs to you
