  1. Within a few minutes I got real lucky and captured multiple great shots. From our position in the gulf, within a few miles of land, our sunsets are over land in the distance. Specifically, Fourchon, LA. In each of the photos, you can see the water tower in Fourchon and several of the buildings that are elevated on posts. If you zoom in on the pictures you can see utility/antennae towers and cranes. I'm posting these as thumbnails. Click on any one and it will take you to the site where I have them stored and there, you can click the "full size" button to get the full size version, (in case you'd like to download any of them). This first one, provides the optical illusion that the sun is hovering beneath the clouds. We all know that the sun is many millions of miles from the earth, but this photo makes you question that.
  2. Hello, Fine Friends! Hope you are all having a great weekend. It was another great day in the gulf today. Will
  3. My prayers are with you tomorrow, Ned.
  4. THAT'S GREAT!!! I'm very happy for you, Judy. I do understand your reservations, as I am following in your footsteps. That said, they're right. We have to appreciate and celebrate every great moment, lest we miss the opportunity to be mentally free of the nightmare. Live it up, Hun. Scoot them shoes and don't forget to smile, 'cause it makes your face happy. Will
  5. Wow! What a trip. I've never been further west than Dallas, TX, but your descriptions take me with you. If things weren't so hectic I would have loved to visit you while you were here. I pass near Houma pretty regularly these days, going to work and home. Seen that train running along Hwy 90 many times. Thought about tking a train ride to nowhere someday. Still may. Thanks for sharing your story. Will
  6. Oh, Sandra! So sorry that you're having to deal with that. I pray it doesn't get worse and that the outcome is good. Will
  7. Hello, Fine Friends! LOL, Denise, I find it funny that you ring my bell on "Fool's Day". Thanks for hollering though. Things have been busy. Real busy. Pookie, my youngest stepdaughter had her second child on the 24th. His name is Brady. The same day I got the great news that after being off of all meds for 4 weeks, my PET scan and CT where completely normal. Doc says e thinks I may actually be cured. (That's a word I never expected to hear.) We will keep me off of meds for three more months and do a complete PET and CT again. If it is clear, I'll say good bye to Avastin and will discuss again whether or not we should continue the Tarceva. Unfortunately, on the 23rd, we got the results of the MRI of Pat's neck. She's really in pretty bad shape. (Pinched nerves at C1-C2, C2-C3, C3-C4. Disc degeneration throughout. Bones grinding and growing spurs at C4-C5. C6-C7 is where her titanium plates are from the first surgery. C6-C7 or C7-T1 has and avulsed nerve wih a cyst on it. Makes us realize just how lucky she is to be alive but she's in awful pain every day. Ultimately, she will have to have more surgeries, but she can't right now for fear of losing her job. I wish she didn't worry about her job so much, but I do understand that she does, especially since she knows very well that I could have to deal with cancer again. I wish there was some way I could assure her that I won't. Hopefully, she can manage until about December, when she will become eligible for FMLA again. The house? Well, I work on it when I have time. Still have a lot to do. At least we're living in it, so it's functioning. I just got some prettying up to do in it. Molding and such. School? Had to drop out to fix the house after the contractor took me for a ride. Then he actually had the gall to hire an attorney to send me a letter about paying him the rest of the money he wanted. I tactfully but forcefully replied to his attorney and haven't heard anything from either since, and don't expect to, but it did take me several days to collect all the info (evidence) and type the letter, myself. So that was more wasted time. Hopefully, someday, I'll get back to school. Well, that's the short story. I hope everyone is doing OK. Hugs all around, Will
  8. Hello, Fine Friends! I hope y'all are all doing well. I don't seem to get around much anymore but I do think of y'all often. I've been busy with the house when home and busy with work at work. I guess that makes sense. When I do have a little time, I've been trying to work out some errors of Einstein's and it's kinda tough getting anybody to listen. I remain NED and I continue to take steps to stay that way. We'll do a flushed PET scan sometime between now and July. That is I'll stop my Tarceva and Avastin to allow any disease to prosper then do a test to see if it's there. The theory goes that if the Tarceva and Avastin are keeping disease subdued we may be getting false negatives. Otherwise I live each day like I've never been sick and do my best to take care of my lovely bride. I see the AIR lives on and I'm very glad it does. Everybody needs to breath a little or vent a little from time to time. I love you all. God Bless you all. Until next time. Will
  9. Now THAT is some "Getting To Know Me" stuff right there.
  10. The very simple truth is that if you travel faster than the speed of light you will outrun it. Your watch will not speed, slow or stop. Your face will not freeze. You will not morph. It is true that the speed of light is constant. So is the progression of time. Your place in the light may be modified. Your place in time may not. It is only by the limitations of light that your relative perspective of time may be changed. Einstein was right in his initial observation, but his mission to merge multiple physical disciplines lead him astray. So he chose to discredit time, instead of light. Einstein was wrong. Now, the entire 21st century scientific community suffers from relatively errant theory. Will Riddle January 02, 2009
  11. Hello, My Fine Friends! Happy 2009! I do hope everyone has been doing OK and that you have a great day today. Will
  12. Merry Christmas, Fine Friends!
  13. LOL @ backups. You tickle me with your fretting, Ms Carefree. Perhaps January or February will be good for resting, Judy. You know?, it may be somewhat of a disguised blessing. It's been a well known feature of mine throughout my life, that I tend to function, mechanically, extremely well under stress. The greater the stress, the more profound my success. I think of it as the prey syndrome. The greater stress placed upon an animal of prey, the more adept they become at surviving. Peace, Love, Will
  14. Well, I've gotten our virtual room cleaned of the old stagnant air. It has come time for me to leave the rig again in the morning. Not that I've been around much lately but I'll surely be more out of pocket across the next two weeks. I will travel all day tomorrow and begin work again on my house first thing Friday morning. I will start with the paneling, where I left off and then do wall paper, then I will start on trim work and while I'm working on trim work, I will get the carpet guys in there to re carpet the house. Once that's done I can begin moving stuff back in the house and hopefully be living in it again by Christmas. Then, of course, I'll be returning to work Christmas eve night and will arrive back on the rig Christmas morning. Y'all wish my luck and if I don't talk to you before then, my friends, have a very Merry Christmas!
  15. None, but I'm sure they're still getting them one by one out of the fridge at the daughter's house.
  16. LOL! One should expect receipt of their quest.
  17. The mixer. Orderly. The geared clockwise spin of the attachment is matched to the counterclockwise loop of the mxing head so it appears that the attachment is not turning. The loops of the mixing head are also geared about it's orbit so the attachment's movement is consistantly equal throughout the mixing bowl. All of the contents will be mixed the same, with no favoritism, without losing or gaining speed, nice and steady. Allow it to work at it's designed speed and it will give you a quality job throughout.
  18. (It's OK. I get me and I understand your view point...and I love you back.)
  19. Oh yea, sorry for that tummy ache. It ain't intended.
  20. OK, so this is getting to know you (me), huh? Well, you remember the kid that didn't quite fit in cause he didn't get the jokes and smiled uneasily when stuff wasn't funny? Yea, that kid was me. Took me the majority of my life to figure out when it was a joke and when people were serious. Heck, I mean, after all what people mean and what they say is only connected (or disconnected) by the subtle personality tones. What happens when one is personality tone deaf? I am the result. I still mess up on occasion but I've gotten better in the last decade or so with taking it easy and just enjoying life. Still, whether someone is laughing or not, if they voice an obvious and dangerous error, I have to yank hard on my mental reigns before I open my mouth, cause sure what's fixin' to come out is some really uptight, mood bustin' stuff. I can even shut up and not say a word about it most of the time now, but it won't leave my mind for hours and then the horrifying self destructive thoughts begin..."What if that person hurts themselves or someone else with their aloof attitude about that 'whatever' and I didn't say anything?" Like I say, I've worked hard at normalizing, but please don't forget that it's a compulsive disorder that we uptight mood busters have and so far there ain't no legal pill for it. When I get it, I usually enjoy it. When I don't get it, and I don't want to bust your mood by making you e-x-p-l-a-i-n your nuance, I'll just smile uneasily. So now you know what that smile is all about. Smile anyway, it makes your face happy.
  21. No. I was tired and I kind of figured it would turn out this way. Personally I was disappointed this morning to learn that I had figured accurately. Perhaps the greater wisdom prevailed. I do hope so.
