  1. I am honored, humbled, and totally in love with my family. They are my life lines and have definely kept me moored to this plane the last four years. Yes, July 2005 would be my fourth year of lung cancer diagnosis.

I suppose it's time to start looking up now. That's okay too!One thing we ALL know is we are terminal from the day we are born.

Truth 2 is we come into the world wearing diapers and we leave the world wearing diapers.

Anyway, family and friends, I can't thank you enough for all the support. My heart, soul, and dreams remain keen, and still able to reach out and give support to you too. Please allow me that!

    Hugs to you all,

    Cathy

Anyone wanting the oyster stuffing recipe just let me know

  2. What would I ever do without you? I don't want to know. Thank you for all the good thoughts, prayers, love, and hugs. I know this is not something easily talked about, but, you've enabled me to do that here which is a bigger gift than you shall ever know.

I will keep in touch as often as possible!

Hugs and light to all of you!!!!

  3. Well, family and friends. It's just been suggested to me that hospice home might be a good alternative for me now. The disease is progressing rapidly. Many, many mets to brain and spine. Making decisions this week-end.

    Hugs,

    CathyR :(:(

  6. Thank you all for your replies. I little more information here. I am feeling a bit better. Pain is subsiding. It was plueral effusion. No cancer cells found in the fluid. Over half a liter taken. Liver is good. Starting back on Taxotere next Monday.

Adrenal glands look good. NO masses according to this CT scan on adrenals.

Thanks for all your good wishes! Love to you and yours!

  7. Wow. What an up and down week for me. I just got back from Philly. Attended my daughters wedding. That was great. On Wed., I had a CT Scan done with results that were not the best. It showed fluid on my left lung in particular. Had a thoracentesis done today. Wow! That hurts!! They took a half liter of lfluid out so I hope that helps with the SOB and maybe even some of the pain I've had on the left side. They want me to have an oxygen tank at home as well. A couple of masses got larger so I am now off the clinicall trial study. I wish I had never come home now.

I'm still in pain tonight, but expect to feel much better tomorrow.

Thank you all for being here and listening to me gripe! I'm ready for a big Texas sized margarita with salt!!

    Hugs to you all,

    CathyR

  8. Hi all,

I am making a trip to Philli to see one of my daughters get married. Another daughter is meeting me there. I don't think I'll have access to a computer so I will "see" and "talk" to everyone when I get home.

My prayers, love, and healing thoughts go out to each and everyone of you!

    Hugs to you all!!!!

  9. Curtis,

You and Becky have been on my mind all day. I'd like to say I can't imagine what you are going through, but unfortunately, my husbands death from lung cancer 5 years ago does let me know exactly how you're doing and what you are going through.

I think Becky would have been so proud of you for sticking with this site and encouraging others as much as you have with all you have on your plate. You are a very exceptional man and your words and thoughts have meant so much to many of us.

You have many friends here Curtis. Don't ever hesitate to call any of us if we can ever be of help.

Lots of love and hugs to you, Becky and your darling Katie!

  10. It's been 3 months since my last bout with chemo and losing my hair.

Today marked a milestone as I actually had to go to the hairdresser and have my hair trimmed and shaped. Oh nice!!!!! It' very thick and somewhat curlier.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Hugs to you all,

    CathyR

  11. Hi Uncle Doug

:) I, too, want to welcome you to our wonderful family of lung cancer survivors. We invite you to "talk" anytime you want. Please keep us apprised of your cancer and we will do the same.

By the way, where are you from? I didn't see a city or state mentioned on your profile.

Take care my new friend. We're all rooting for you!!!!

    Hugs,

    CathyR

  12. Brian,

It's been 3 1/2 years since my diagnosis of lung cancer at the ripe old age of 50. None of us know how long we have left. The cancer, though, teaches us to live one day at a time.

I am now in a clinical trial and hoping for a miracle. It's been known to happen. The important thing is keeping the pain under control and being optomistic and realistic at the same time. Sometimes thats difficult. But, get all the support you can and just love you father.

We are all here for you!

    Hugs,

    CathyR

  13. TAnn

I am so happy for you. It certainly is a big deal to have another birthday. I know that I no longer complain about getting older. This cancer certainly does teach you some things, huh?

Anyway my dear friend, I hope you are celebrating and looking forward to many more.

    Hug to you TAnn!!!! :P
