Hi. It has been awhile! My dad has been on Tarceva for 2 months.....chest is stable, but shockingly a 3.7cm mass showed on liver, so biopsy on Thurs. Odd because his pet was clean a few months ago. The oncologist is puzzled.
I will keep you updated! Please send me recipes for the book!!!

If you go to www.tarceva.com, on the top right of the screen you will see a number for a 24 hour hotline staffed by an oncology nurse.
My dad called them today & received AMAZING information on all of his symptoms, he said he got better tips from them than his oncologist office or anywhere on the internet. It is free.
Just wanted to share!

A zillion thanks!!!

My dad's Tarceva rash on his face is pretty bad.....he is thinking about growing a beard b/c it hurts so much & he is not one to complain. He went to the onc & has all the appropriate meds for it.
If anyone else experienced the rash, will it eventually get better or will it hurt the entire time he is on it? Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I am posting less about it b/c many are tired of my complaining/worrying...it is what it is, so I just have to wait & see. Will keep you updated!

Hi. It has been soooo long since I last posted! I do think of everyone & read up on how everyone is doing. So many new people here too!
So my mom is STILL in remission, diagnosed Nov 2003 with IIIA!!!!! She is the epitome of a medical miracle.
My dad has been stable with his BAC, however new growth was detected, so he is getting a biopsy on Thurs. If cancerous they mentioned RFA. He also was just diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, an indolent form of lymphoma called Waldenstroms Macroglobenemia. No treatment is needed for that just yet, they wait until more symptoms present. Only 1500 a year get it!
Hugs, kisses & cancer cure wishes.

I think someone once posted this, but it came to me on e-mail again & wanted to share.....basically you can get free housecleaning once a month if undergoing chemo.

Hi everyone,
I apologize for being super quiet lately, I do read & think of you all!
I was offered an amazing opportunity to do an internet based weight loss reality show with Shay from the Biggest Loser!!! In an effort to "pay it forward", I am donating $10 for every pound I lose during the 6 week period to LUNGevity.
Here is a link to the details of what I will be doing.

If you want to watch, you can check back to the link above or friend me on Facebook, all details will be there.
Thanks!

I know it has been forever since I posted & I do apologize....I have been busy handling my twins! I do think of everyone here!!!
Just a quick thought as holiday parties are approaching-----consider hosting a Lung Cancer Fundraiser Party! Invite people over, celebrate holidays, ask for donations for LUNGevity in lieu of gifts, and tax deduct the party!!!!! We did this for the babies 1st b-day party. It was so much fun!
Love & prayers to everyone!

My mom IIIA, advanced, but she is still in remission since her Nov2003 diagnosis.....despite brain anyerum procedures & triple bypass along the way!
My dad unstaged (either I or IV, depends if the blip in the brain is malignant, at this point they asume probably not) diagnosed Sept 2007 is also still in remission!!!!
We all count our blessings daily!

Just echoing what the others said, it is great news to be a candidate for surgery! Both of my parents had it and they both said it was nowhere near as bad as they thought it would be. Good luck!
