  1. Infiltrates are just like little specs on a film. I had infiltrates that were found accidentally and were monitored and then they went away. Sometimes t hings just show on films that are nothing, hopefully the infiltrates will go away next time.

  2. Thanks everyone!!!

I saw the report and as Linda said it talks about Ewings and says something about Lymphoma. I don't like the word "suggestive" in the report; nor do I like where it says "clinical correlation suggested". To me that means they arenot 100% sure w hat they are doing.

    She lives in Atlanta area.

Kasey--I told my cousin Linda about you and NIH last night, that is why NIH was my first thought. Jacob is still way off charts, but so far no definate reason, so we just keep checking him. Love ya!

  3. Hi all. My cousin's girlfriend, age 30, has been in the hospital with fevers and a lung mass. Turns out the lung tumor is Ewings Sarcoma, which is very rare.

Does anyone have experience with this? The hardest part is that she has no insurance, so we are worried that she won't get top notch treatment as she is not in a top notch cancer center right now.

I already suggested they call NIH and MD Anderson to inquire. Not sure if they take patients without insurance.

    Thanks friends.

  4. Yay! Don't forget to let me know if you are in, so I can compile a list for fun. Also, PM me wth your e-mail so we can do a weekly e-mail with each other to see how it is going.

I am eating a lot today to earn more money, since my start day is tomorrow.

  5. Friends,

I came up with an idea  Desparate to lose weight :? ; mad at lung cancer  and guilt over not being very active and offering much support at LCSC  I came up with an idea tying everything together :D

This challenge is only for those who need to lose weight (and intended for family members to support the patients, not the patients themselves who should not undergo a diet without asking a doctor), but have no fear my blessedly skinny friends, you can participate too with pledges......

    1. Ask family or friends (or yourself) to pledge a certain dollar amount to lung cancer for each pound you lose.

    2. Keep track of your weight loss.

    3. Let's check in with each other here (I will start the post) on the 15th of each month.

    4. At the end of 3 months (April 15, tax day, easy to remember) and July 15, collect those pledges via checks payable to LUNGevity or cash (or donate the amount on line to www.lungevity.org)

We can post progress and share stories here. Alternatively, if anyone is interested in a more "private" way to share tips, notes, etc, I can set up an e-mail list, like a mass e-mail. for those involved in the challenge and we can e-mail just each other.

PM me or e-mail me at andreascheff@roadrunner.com with any questions, thoughts, or suggestions.

  6. Wow, that was a lot of bullets to dodge! My mom had just the opposite, her lung cancer randomly led her to ailments she never would have known about. Her routine brain MRI led to an anyerusm discovery. Her anyerusm procedure led to discovery that she needed a triple bypass. She was always asymptomatic.

Tell your body to chill out, there is nothign to be jealous about :)

  7. Thanks so much for posting that Curtis. I have often thought of you and wondered how you are. Please let us know about you when you have a chance.

  8. I am not a fan of this time of year b/c it seems to just stress out and depress a lot of people who are ill, alone, not happy, etc, etc. It is just hard to say "happy holidays" sometimes when your loved one is sick. I remember 5 years ago, my mom was diagnosed in Nov, and I was like "what do you mean HAPPY holiays???? My mom is fighting for her life. Bahumbug to one and all."

Your mom wants to try to keep thngs as normal for you as possible, and that means keeping on with the holiday tradition. I know it is hard. I wish I had words to help, but I don't. Just know that you are not alone.
