[my silver wedding anniversary]

25 years ago today i got married

my parents were divorced so when i got married i was determined to stay married

well here i sit still married to that wonderful man

we have worked very hard over the years to stay together

and now with this horrible beast in our lives we are closer than ever

I am NED since my surgery in feb and i cant help but feel that whatever happens in the future this wonderful man and i will get thru it!!!!!!!

my pulmo is also a critical care specialist

he is very personable and does all his patient interview himself

all his notes on my chart are from his hand writing

he is very thero

i also see him every three months

for the same thing your ok do you need refills see you in 3

i keep these appointments over my GP & onc because he knows lungs

thats his specialty

my onc treats mostly brest cancer she treats all cancers but not a whole lot of lung cancer

so knowing i have a lung specialist on board for second oppinions is nice to know

sooooo many people assume once your cured its over

they have no clue what goes thru our minds every day

why does it seam that if it can happen it happens to me

after my surgery in february i had alot of problems with pain management in particular i complained about muscle spasams in my shoulder,arm,back on the side of my surgery. well the pain management teams response was ohhhhhh thats so rare. well it happened to me and now 9 months latter i continue to have problems with my left shoulder. very limited motion and painful to this day. like a nagging ach but excrusiating pain if the shoulder or arm is moved the wrong way.

i went to an ortopedist specializing in shoulders

i hav been in rehab for 3 months now with little or no improvemetn

the PT thinks it is directly related to the surgery

now they want to give me pain injections before PT

if that dosent work they suggest surgery

the surgery basicly is your put under , they go in orthoscopicly to look around and make sure there are no problems and then force the shoulder where it wont go this sounds so painful the doc says its not

soooooo my question is has anyone else had a problem like this and how was it handled

but the local hospital has a cancer support group to cover all cancers

somewhere i read an artcle about cancer survivors depresion and anxietie

i dont think they have done enough studies of the survivors and what they go thru

sure we know we are not crazy and it is true anxiety but it seams the docs sort of know how we feel but dont really

i hear get on with your life often i have goten on with my life but it now includes anxiety when i have a new ache or pain, feel tiered, or have a test scheduled. all of us know we beat our minds up when its test time.

how to get over it? you dont. guess you just gotta deal with it when the feelings come on. drugs--- wont take them---i feel its a crutch . better to find a way to deal with it than sedate it. just might need more & more sedation as time goes on

I think i had the neulasta (SP)

the onc nurse suggested to me to take up to 3 extra strength tylenol

at first i didnt take the tylenol and the bone pain was awful

i felt like i was 100 years old

so i began to take them evry 4 to 6 hrs so there would be no break thru pain

it seamed to work

i also spoke to a nurse friend of mine who said the pain is usally in the spine neck & hips mine sure was

also found that certain movements felt worse than others

if it makes you feel better it was only temporary

heres hoping she feels better

I got my flu shot at my GP this week no lines either

it was funny

when i called to make the arraingements

the receptionist asked my age

then she was very sharp and said ohhhh you cant get a shot its only for the people over 65

i said welllll i think i fit into one of the other high risk groups

she was like which one???

i said hows lung cancer/lung surgery

boy did she make an about face in attitude!!!

i was in there no more than 15 minutes

i am appaled at our "elected leaders" what makes them so special over the general public i bet it was for free as well they all should resign for abuse of power. this is not fair

it makes me sick that prisoners who break the law are getting the shot at tax payers expense

the people who are responsable for authorizing this should loose there jobs

all i can do is say a prayer that this year the flu is mild

when you get the urge go there

for me it was my bed

when i would get the urge i would go sit on my bed untill the urge went away

change brands to another you really dont like for example if you smoke regulars buy menthol'

start rolling your own

while rolling think about all the reason why you really dont want the cig

by the time your done you may not smoke it

just a few suggestions

that happened to me twice

once with my wedding ring after 15 years i never did find the stone and had to buy a new stone to repair it

then not to long ago i treated my self to a beautiful emerald ring and one week later the stone fell out. I took it back and they repaired it.

i would take it back and see what they say!!!
