  1. Frank,

The orchestra may be warming up but there is still an entire opera before the fat lady sings. I pray its a long opera and that we get to read many, many installments of your journal.

Frank, you are such a special person. I feel I know you deep down and for that I am greatful. I hope hospice gets it right soon and that the "symtoms", discomfort and pain are gone before your next report.

The only other thing I need to say is that I love you too. You will always have a special place in my heart. How many days have I come here feeling yucky and read one of your posts or jokes and felt better.

Write often and long when you can.

  2. Andrea,

Do what you need to do for Andrea for a change. You have worked so hard for your family and all of us that it is your turn. I know you are worried but you'll be fine when those kids get here. You have always done everything you do well and there is no reason to think otherwise now.

    Have a great weekend.

  3. Welcome Inna. I was dx IIIA also and had surgery and radiation. That was almost 4 years ago. My oncologist looked over my medication AND supplement list ( I was already on some vitamins) and said what I was taking was ok with chemo. I would NOT take anything that my oncologist didn't know about and approve. I feel sure I did the right thing because my results have been so good. Read my profile and you will see I have had no treatments since my original ones and feel good and am NED at the moment. Your dad is on the right track. Best of luck to you and your family.

  4. Wednesday night around 6pm-7pm central works for me. Its church night at our little Episcopal church and we have a short prayer service then. I said my prayer for all of us tonight and didn't even realize this was going on. Kinda of nice to know others were praying at the same time. I'm in every Wed night...easiest for me to remember.

  5. Good one Frank. When my little brother was about 5 he found in the waste an empty cartridge from a tampax. He knew just what to do with it. He took a roll of tape and taped his "new telescope" to the top of his wooden gun. Mother nearly died of embarasment. She waited til he went to bed to discard of his new "toy". Funny thing was none of us knew why she turned purple when she saw it. This turned into a family joke as each one of us got big enough to remember and give it a good laugh.

  6. No person, and I mean no person, has the right to put a time frame on anyone's life. If you had asked, well maybe an educated guess might be in order, but even then it should not be absolute. I am so glad you gave him a piece of your mind. I hope he takes it seriously.

I wish you and your husband good vibes and good results from coming treatments. You oncologist sounds like a very warm person. Stick with him and ignore the ignoramous.

  7. Pat,

You are a very important part of this family. You and Brian and his memory are what this is all about. I would hope that once I pass on that my timeline stays put when my husband posts the news. It still says that I survived for a while against all odds. I hope that continues but if it doesn't that is just part of my story. Your Brian was a very brave man who gave this beast a good fight. He won for a while and that is what is important.
