Chris,
My mom was also just recently diagnosed with SCLC with mets to the liver. This board has been a great source of information and support for me. Read through the messages and you will find alot of answers to your questions. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
God Bless,
Susan

Thanks for your replys. Mom finished her second round of Chemo today. She has had no nausea but is very depressed. She did not get sick after the first round so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. She will undergo a CT scan in a week to see if the tumor is shrinking. She is having alot of trouble swallowing food and medicine and alot of trouble with breathing. I hope chemo will be able to open her air passage soon. I will keep your families in my prayers.
Thanks again,
Susan
P.S. I'm just learning how to use these message boards

We just found out that my mother has small cell lung cancer extensive stage with metastasis into the liver. She spent eight days in the hospital and now is home undergoing chemo on a outpatient basis. It seems like she is getting sicker every day. Her voice is completely gone due to the the tumor has damaged nerves. Today I saw her cry for the first time. The doctors are giving her possibly a year if all goes well with treatment. I am interested in talking with other family members of SCLC patients. Thank you for listening.

Connie,
My mom was also diagnosed with SCLC on 1/3/03 with mets to the Liver. She is doing very well with her Chemo and the tumors are shrinking and disappearing. I do not pay any attention to the statistics. This board is a great place to get support. Please keep us updated. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
God Bless,
Susan M.
