slinaresholz
I tried to walk to the store in the snow. It was about 20 out. I don't know if it was the exertion of walking through the deep snow or the cold, but I only made it about forty feet from the house and got so short of breath I could hardly make it back to the house. Any one else have this trouble?.It really scared me. Sharon
Justakid
Sharon - with it being so cold, when I step outside, my lungs seem to seize up and I can't breath. The cold air just seems to make them stop working. You are not alone!
Ry
It's the cold air hitting your lungs. I bought John a thing from LL Bean that goes around his mouth and nose. It's for skiing but it keeps him from breathing the cold air. You need to put a scarf or something over your face.
Eileen
Hi Sharon, even though I had my operation over 4 years ago, cold weather really effects my breathing--so I think that is fairly normal for anyone with lung problems regards,
Donna G
I just mentioned this yesterday on the ribbon about how cold it has been here in Minnesota . I am 7 years out! The cold air makes it "painful" to breath in. Of course it was pretty cold here- like -10 to -15 degrees for a couple of days.
