Guest TraciAnn
Went to Rush hospital in Chicago for 2nd opinion. Love the doc... hate the news. Seems chemo and radiation were more like fertilizer than anything else. Tumor has grown from2 cm x 3 cm to 5cm x7 cm x 3.5 cm and has spread bi-laterally. Makes me very sad. On we go to Tarceva to try and get it under control. Doc also mentioned Olympta (sp?) as a chemo iv in case Tarceva doesn't work. We have to go back in a month for blood work and a new chest xray. tnmynatt
TraciAnn, Sorry about your Mom. That is Alimta that is a chemo. that has shown good results after the initial chemos and radiation. My husband is on Tarceva and seems to be responding. Hoping and praying that your mom has good results, too. Take care.
karenl
TraciAnn I am so sorry to read your news . Tarceva seems to be having some good success with members on this board - I sure hope that your Mom will be among them!! Stay strong, there are still plenty of options for fighting this! gail p-m
Sorry to hear that the news wasn't better. However, it sounds like you have a good doctor, one who is going to work for your mom, until the right chemo is found. A good doc is so important. Hoping the next chemo for your mom is "the one". Guest TraciAnn
Mom started taking 150 mg tarceva 6 days ago... since then, she's been sick... coughing to the point of vomiting, not eating cuz she vomits more, andd very weak. She had been working 6 or more hours a day, but this past week probably a total of 6 hours. I know some of you have experience with this, is it all from the tarceva? Thank you... tnmynatt
TraciAnn, I've not heard of Tarceva causing nausea. Seems like maybe a virus or something. Maybe she should see a doctor. Is she taking the Tarceva as instructed between meals? Hope she improves. Take care.
