eppie Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Does it always result in permanent hair loss? I just want to know before I shoot my mouth off like a know it all to my dad. My hubs thinks I should let my dad know this is true. I am not so sure. He is only having 10 treatments and he hasn't lost his hair yet....#7 WBR rad. was today. Much love and healing hugs to all on this precious message board, Eppie Quote
ginnyde Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 No, Earl did lose his hair but it did grow back. It was a different texture though. Quote
eppie Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 Thanks so much for replying....I hate all or nothing thinking. Telling my dad something like "all people who receive WBR lose their hair permanently" is just something I would hate to do. Knowing just one case where this was not the case helps. Thanks so much for your kind response. eppie Quote
TAnn Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I also had 10 treatments of WBR. I didn't start losing my hair until the day after the 10th treatment. That was October of 2004. I'm just now getting hair back. (1 year later) So I guess you could say it's not permanent, but realllllly slow! TAnn Quote
SBeth Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Everyone is different. Bill lost his hair about two weeks after his first WBR treatment. His starting growing back just after the new year. Good luck to your father. Quote
dchurchi Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 My husband Alan lost all his hair with WBR. His last treatment was early Aug and I can just now start to see his hair trying to come back. Debbie Husband Alan DX small cell lung cancer Jan 10th 2005 Quote
